Wright's meat and tato pie with oxtail soup...it's the food of gods I tried that last year and I’m sure it was after I read a post by you saying the same. It was fucking disgusting but glad I found out instead of dying wondering😉

On a similar but separate subject the price on tins of Irish stew are taking the piss Mince beef, stewed steak and all them. Scandalous. I used to love gyppo tea of stewed steak, home made chips and bread and butter n all!😉 love a tin of stewed steak and chips, knocking on for £3 nowadays, and last one I had was fully of fatty chunks of (hopefully steak).. and them all day breakfasts used to be about 99p… again touching £3 nowadays

Love me some split pea soup with a nice old bit of ham in it. Also, some homemade minestrone is excellent with some parm grated on top. All with a bit of bread on the side.

Try Heinz Tomato Cup a Soup with a tea spoon full of Boveril in a good size mug. Stir well.😀 I get tonsillitis with unreasonable frequency and make tomato cup a soup with a full teaspoon of black pepper mixed in a staple diet for a few days, completely numbs it for a while Lemon and ginger green tea with a teaspoon or two of honey does the trick for anything throat related for me. Or any ginger ale or beer helps too

Baxters lobster bisque. Don't know if they still do it but years ago when my mate and his wife came round for eats I bought a few tins, tipped into the saucepan, warmed up with a bit of cream and claimed it as my own creation. Amazing product. I'll tell him one day.

But I've thought about making one soup from the Soup Nazist's recipes (Seinfeld series).

In terms of tinned soups. Oxtail is elite tier. Scotch broth right up there too. Minestrone as well. For homemade soup I love a lentil soup. This recipe here isn't a bad base - www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/lentil-bacon-soupI use bacon instead of panceta. Or better still I use some gammon and the stock left over from slow cooking it for my stock. Got to be honest here. Aside from corn, lentil soup is the only food I know of that looks the same going in as it does coming out.

Some nice fish soups available, Bouillabaisse or Lobster Bisque . Only downside is they aint particularly cheap but bloody lovely.
We make alot of soup in winter, always onions and chopped bacon as base, homemade tomato /chicken/mushroom / leek and potato. Make them in morning when I work at home.
