I'd be happy with just having him for his pace 😅 we need it badly. Athletics fan are you? Sadly not. Am I fan of having a player who can run in behind and stretch teams? I sure am.

I'd love to see your reaction if we bought a reserve striker from Blackburn or Oxford back in the day. Remember signing a guy who worked in a shoe factory in Northants once who turned out to be our greatest goalscorer!

If we are putting all our hopes on Stansfield or Cannon then we're playing a foolish game. Come the end of the window we could end up with neither and have nothing up front. But if we sign Jebbison then at least we have someone up front which is better than nothing.

We don’t need to have seen him play to know he’s not a goal scorer, that’s what stats are for. Ten career goals and we expect him to come in and solve our goal scoring issues? None of us know how it would go here though do we🤷♂️ Sheron 2 in 28 at Norwich before he came to us Steino (to a lesser extent) 18 in 82 at Oxford both for their previous clubs before us. Different environment/manager and the rest is history. We can’t just write players off the way folk do on here one a regular basis I get that mate, but Sheron and Stein had both been top flight regulars and scored a decent number of top flight goals. It would have been pretty easy to make a good argument for their pedigree. We shouldn't write Tebbison off, but it's a very different kind of signing to Steino/Sheron.

Feeling a combination of relief, because he didn't seem like the answer to our problems. But also concerned that our recruitment team have failed again, by all accounts.
Not a great look.

So another one bites the dust anybody else get the feeling its not going to happen we are just not a very attractive club. Chances of promotion almost nil chances of top six very doubtful never finished in the top half of championship since relegation.

The fact you’re having to go back over two decades ago to give an example of a time a player with a poor record turned out decent for us surely proves that it rarely happens? I can live with Jebbison if he signs along with someone like Stansfield, if we’re putting all our goal scoring eggs in the Jebbison basket than it’s more negligent recruitment. Just because it hasn't happened to us recently doesn't mean it won't. It happens every season at every level. Szmodics is a prime example. Never really been prolific or known as a goalscorer ever..now look at him. Harry Kane had numerous loans and was never prolific until it randomly just clicked for him. It can happen and happens at every level. Sometimes a player just needs to be settled and given a run of games, Jebbinson has only ever had a run of games and guess what? He scored goals. The fact is you don't know it won't work. Nobody does. Nobody knows anything until he has been given a chance. We haven’t got time to get him settled though, we need someone to come in and hit the ground running. If you can’t see why people are concerned about signing a striker who’s best season was 7 goals in league one for Burton then we’ll just have to agree to disagree.

Can only really judge it after the window has closed tbf, If Cannon/Stansfield are here before it slams shut, then we’ve got the better player

Watford have agreed a deal in principle with Bournemouth to sign striker Daniel Jebbison on a season-long loan deal.
The 21-year-old is likely to remain with Bournemouth until next week before joining up with the Championship club. Bournemouth play Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday before a Carabao Cup fixture against West Ham United next Wednesday.
Jebbison has been impressed with Watford head coach Tom Cleverley's plans for the season and has made his choice after considering various options. Watford have targeted a new striker during this transfer window.

I get the impression that we went in late as there commentators were mentioning their interest on Saturday and we weren’t linked then. Dissapointed but not overly. We just need someone half decent and they’ll improve us. No offence to Tezgel (not ready) or Ennis (not good enough) but a half decent frontman would transform us.
