AKA the bald headed bastard from years back. I forgave him after he let us take that quick free kick in the Auto windscreen final 😊 Does anyone know what his beef is with Denis Smith? Decent listen for anyone interested

Remember chatting to him in the corporates at Blackburn when they beat us 3-0 (1st season in the prem)
I asked him about Thorneys goal at Wembley and we had a laugh about it. Got the impression he didnt want extra time!

I can't stand these arrogant ex-refs trying to pass themselves off as one of the lads. All this first-name banter, I find it repulsive. They've had a couple on this podcast who've both basically admitted to totally unethical and unprofessional practices when they were reffing, regarding treating players differently or whatever - is it this one who confesses that he deliberately didn't give blatant fouls against a particular player because he had a beef with him? They think they're telling humorous anecdotes but they're just advertising how unprofessionally they conducted themselves. You're supposed to be a figure of authority ffs. And then they wonder why supporters are mistrustful of referees and their motives.

Decent listen for anyone interested From something I remember from years ago, I think Denis liked to referee the game himself. I don't think Lynch liked being told how to do his job all the time.

Maybe he found his wife in bed with a blue hippo?

Parkin is a hard listen at times. Slightly off topic, but James English has some really good interviews on YouTube. Worth a listen

Maybe he found his wife in bed with a blue hippo? No one has it in for stoke, quite like Gavin Ward. He was definitely arse raped by someone wearing the red and white, whilst eating an oatcake and screaming Why why why Delilah as he spunked all over his brand new set of referee cards he got for Christmas one year.

I can’t remember the refs name but had a moustache and I think it was his story about Ian Wright, when on loan at Nottm Forest. Let the defenders kick him all over the place. Wright was near the end of his career and taking a shoeing all game wouldn’t have helped him. If I was a player and had got injured during one of his games after taking a kicking I’d be having a look back at it and seeing what he was up to.
