Really hoped this season would be different. Why can't we just get back to basics. 4 defenders 4 midfielders 2 attackers. Paly players in their positions and just be solid. Today was a joke  No striker again |

It’s still early days and who knows what could happen, but I don’t think I will ever get to a point again where I allow myself even the slightest glimmer of hope. It’s the only way I can stop myself getting bloody angry.

We really need a top striker who can get 15 - 20 goals. Also need to get some players who have no future out of the club rather than just let them run the contracts down.

Big ask for tezgel up there with pretty much no support, poor midfield display but think we’ll be fine once the sides settled, how longs Gallagher out for?

Stop the goals getting in would be the first priority and that starts with a decent keeper not one who's first thought to every shot is to palm it out |

I'm beginning to think we need a powerhouse striker (a strong target man) and players playing off him.... Their defence today have probably had their easiest game they'll get this season!!!
That's no disrespect to Tezgel, he did okay considering he's a young lad up against experienced no nonsense defenders, and I doubt the likes of Cannon or Stansfield would have fared any better either!!!

If we’d drawn last week against Coventry, a side tipped to do well again this season, and drawn this afternoon, most fans would be happy. That’s with 2pts, we’ve got 3.

I know there are more sophisticated metrics used these days - and I've seen it recorded variously as 24 and 26 - but that could be the most shots we've had against us in a match since 2019

They worked out our weaknesses playing the formation that we were and we kept playing it even after the two goals that went in. We made our subs too late to have any impact on the game.

We were all over the place after 20 mins SS should have seen this & done something about it at HT.
He has to learn to make the right choices & decisions to change things.
The Watford manager got things spot on at HT & we were lucky we only lost by 3-0.

Today was a joke No striker again We have only got one fit striker and are relying on him (Tezgel) to lead the line. Don't know where we'd have found two from today. I'm guessing Ennis is injured which is why we changed our plan for Mmaee. |

I'm sure we could have found one. Can we wait and see who we bring in. The bottom half of the Premier are also looking for the level of striker we need so no one of the standard we are looking for will be rushing to sign for Stoke |

We weren’t ever going to win today.
Winning two games in a row at the start of a season just doesn’t happen to Stoke in recent years.
I just hope we get better, I really do.
But my concern is up top we’re so bereft. Hopefully the new players can bed in, but im not holding my breath.

Thought that at the game, they were in control after 20 mins and half time we needed to change it maybe match their back three up. The lack of pace and power mentioned another major factor, you have to win the individual battles and they did that today. |
