Never realised it was still a pretty new thing when I used to watch it on a black and white portable tv in a weekend caravan. Starsky and Hutch followed by MotD was the highlight of the tv week. Can't remember whether it was only broadcast in black and white then or whether that was just because it was a black and white tv. By the time Starsky and Hutch arrived it was colour. Parky after MOTD Must have just been the telly we didn't even have a generator in those days just working off 12v battery. |

Lineker's an excellent presenter. Stoke often got praise when it was due (under Pulis and Hughes), so I'm not sure where the hate comes from there. Maybe fans of every club think Lineker talks them down unless it's Leicester... Suspect the hate comes from his political views. The anti wokerati don't like him. Which is mental considering all he’s really said politically is that children should be fed and maybe being violent and abusive towards refugees isn’t too nice. He can be a bit annoying as a presenter sometimes but to say you don’t like him because of ‘what he stands for’ as has been said in here is very odd |

when stoke beat the big boys it was because they were bad that day not because we played well I think this is an exaggeration. I can remember being luxuriated with praise during the stokelona era. That being said, the sofa pundits on MOTD were always extremely basic. We could win 4-1 and still get put 2nd to last, not Linkers fault but I have to blame someone. |
