It's a real opportunity for the younger players, as well. Every game we progress in the competition is another chance for them to stake a claim in the first team that they otherwise might not have got. You have to imagine that yesterday's team have all given themselves a much better chance of appearing on Saturday.

I’m all for giving the kids a runout but this isn’t the Staffs County Cup. It’s a good competition with a chance of playing at Wembley. As with the FA Cup, we should try and go as far as we can even if it means some of our more established players starting. Saying that, our kids made some of our so called ‘stars’ look like mugs yesterday, so the kids start on merit anyway.
