Feels harsh on Dixon, but I think the more game time and opportunities for clean sheets we can give to Gibson, Wilmot and Johansson makes sense. They need to form a partnership and providing the load isn’t too heavy for Gibson then I’d probably go with that.
Full backs pick themselves by default.
Not sure how you balance it out, but I’d like to see two of Sidibe, Baker, and DJ in a midfield two. Probably Sidibe and Baker
Vidigal’s situation behind the scenes dictates what goes on there, but if he’s available and it doesn’t affect a an imminent move I’d have him on the right and Koumas on the left. Mmaee playing as a second striker and Ennis / Tezgel leading the line.

I seem to be in the minority but I like these games and the league cup. For me, we should pick our strongest team and go for a big win.

Anyone know what the parking situation is like up there? The Carlisle website suggests parking for away fans at the ground. £5 cash.

Away at Carlisle early in the season just feels like an injury waiting to happen. We should win, I think these could do the double drop, they are really crap.

Very limited parking at the ground first come first served. Driving up from Lytham so hopefully a much reduced journey.

I'd be playing a mix of academy prospects and fringe players, don't want any injuries and it's a good chance for Dixon, Sidibe etc to get senior minutes. If we win it's a bonus but our season will be long enough already.

Disagree, why would you likelier to get an injury away than at home? Anyway, new ground for probably every Stokie attending, sunny day in Cumbria and we should still win (but who knows).

there's a hanful of posters on here like Bayern and the Jesus bloke who think the competition is irrelevant and the fixture meaningless. These games and early FA Cup rounds are crucial for young players and fringe players to get match fit and in some cases get experience. In MON reign both Collins and Souttar benefitted from a number of cup games before they became a fixture in the first team. Hope this approach works again.Let's hope for a couple more 'easy' draws Irrelevant, meaningless? Don't thnk so

I think competition as a competition for us is pretty meaningless though. I love seeing a reserve side in this competition for the very reasons you have said! If I thought the cup was relevant, I’d want us to go stronger.
