Apologies if this has been posted before but it certainly seems like there was a mixture of different races involved, contrary to what Farage was suggesting ... No one has denied “other races” were “involved” have they? I’ve only read the best bits of the thread so may not have seen. What did Big Nige say?

I’m sure there were and there’s good and bad in all cultures and religions but it would be naive to think that the majority of those involved weren’t from the Roma community from seeing the majority of the footage from the initial incident.

I don't think the majority of those involved WERE from the Roma community, what makes you think it was? From - the vast majority of the footage I’ve seen, - the name of the gentleman that was arrested for setting fire to the coach, - those involved in the initial incident being from the Roma community and there friends being called as was reported. - The local community being heavily made up from the Roma community as was stated by the local council who are currently trying to build bridges with them.

Anyway...any updates on the arrests and knock on effects of the riot? No repeat in Leeds and no copy cat riots elsewhere. It seems the great British summer rioting season has gone to the dogs just like everything else in this country. We don't seem to be able to do anything properly anymore! It's the calm before the civil war 😂

So you're actually indeed disagreeing with Farage then?
Romania isn't in the sub-continent.

Many people including experts in the field of geography call Europe a subcontinent. So that’s good enough for me and indeed Nige

It’s not about agreeing or disagreeing for me. I’m not some sort of fanboy who feels obliged to agree with a politician solely because of some sort of loyalty. I like to make my own mind up from what I see rather than what I think I should say. So yes I am though I have to be honest I’m not quite sure what he means by “sub continent.”

If you genuinely believe that Farage was referring to Europe in his comments, then I have no words.
The clip I posted, was of a local Muslim leader tackling a white lad who was attempting to throw a pallet onto the bonfire, which was completely at odds with the narrative that Farage and others were attempting to portray.

You (and others on here) seem to revel at this kind of thing, Who are you sticking up for and why ?
Revel in what?
I was the first person on the thread to suggest that the source of the riot was actually a Romani family and not a Muslim uprising, as was being suggested elsewhere.
And then when somebody else makes the same point a few days later, you somehow bizarrely regard that as 'tucking Paul up in bed'. I'm sure you can see that you're comment doesn't actually make a lot of sense.
Who am I 'sticking up for'? ... it's not football match, where we're obliged to take sides.
If I'm sticking up for anything, I guess, it's the truth.
Right from the get go, your Farage's, Robinson's and Wootons of this world, attempted to hijack the riot and portray it as being some sort of Muslim uprising when in actual fact, it was a riot that consisted of many different races, living in one of the most deprived areas of Britain.
Their type of rhetoric is not helpful and does absolutely nothing to bring people together, not only is it false but it is inflammatory and dangerous.

The main media made it clear it was started by the Romanian people, who are you trying to convince otherwise. I only speed read some the posts from Friday night, but didn't you liken and brush it off as some sort of minor Brixton riot ? apologies if not.

There really is no hope for you if you think this is acceptable in the U.K. What is unacceptable? He ran a campaign on an anti Labour/pro Palestine ticket and won. If Labour had stuck to their decades old policy of being pro Palestine, he probably would have had no chance. He was the one who was out there attempting to stop the locals smashing up their neighbourhood, not sat 4,000 miles away, attempting to inflame the situation.
