I know each and every one of you thinks fondly back to the icelandic era at SCFC and wonders what all those brilliant icelandic players are doing now. 😀
Well, in less than an hour you can tune in to the Champions League quaĺification game between Shamrock Rovers and icelandic champions Víkingur.

Yikingur missed a penalty last kick of the 5th minute of injury time , Rovers hanging on after Jack was sent off, they now get 3 more matches in Europe and earn a few bob as well Sparta Prague next week |

Just back from a holiday in Iceland. What a lovely place but so underpopulated you wonder how they manage to get enough players for a football league. Apart from Reykjavik the towns we visited were smaller than Newcastle and outside the towns the houses were dotted about with the nearest neighbour about a mile away.

But I would hope that we all remember the positives and not only the negatives. The icelanders did get us promoted. It wasn't perfect but they got us into the Championship. And they did sell when they realized that they were in too deep. |
