Think we need to be patient and view the squad in September. If we get in some younger players, mixed with players like Gibson then fine. If we end up in another situation where an old injury prone player like Stevens is our only option, backed up by a midfielder playing left back then the club will get it big time

It’s only a team talk article… but decent signing if true. About 5-7yrs ago perhaps. Sure he was always on TP's wanted list when Gibson was at Boro but we never managed to get him in his prime.. Maybe my expectations have been lowered after our more recent 30 plus defender signings, but if he’s here to compete for a spot against Wilmot and Rose to play alongside a more ambitious signing I would be pretty happy. If we sign another centre back (or even none others at all) that is not much of an upgrade on those 3 then fair enough I’ll be complaining as much as anyone come the end of August. |

To be fair the Norwich fans on there board were saying he’s decent on the ball, prone to the odd mistake but will go with there best wishes. One even said he was there best defender

McNally and Clark only played 4 games between them? Only Hoever played more for us last season than McNally. As for Gibson never really rated him but it’s often hard to really know what players are like until you see them play week in week out, he’s left footed though at least. |

Good experienced pro, will add balance to the defence being left footed.
Admittedly I hope we spend decent money on another centre half, I’d worry if he was our main centre back signing.
