The parachute payments have stopped for Norwich now so they’ll have to seriously watch their pennies, I doubt they wanted to lose McCallum but they simply do not have the wiggle room to bump his wages up. They’re in serious trouble next season. They could go for Jonny Howson.

"Free" never means free but good signing. It's a transfer fee of zero, which is a free transfer. The player will probably receive a decent signing on fee but the transfer fee is still zero which is what a free transfer is. Hope this helps (for the umpteenth time). Coveted free agents are never cheap deals despite the lack of transfer fee but having got the wage bill under control we’ve shed some meaty wages this summer (ie Wesley, Campbell, Haksabanovic) so should have plenty of scope. 1st choice CB and CF now and we’ll be looking to have the bones of a good squad of our own players that we can try to add to or supplement with some loans.

Great to see us get a couple of permanent deals in early doors. Like the poster above says a striker and a centre half should be next along with a sprinkling of magic dust loans in July/August

Great to see we will have great spine to the squad on first day of pre season unlike last season. 2 first team players done, 3/4 more first team starters needed currently unless expected exits happen.

This is the signing I wanted this summer. A first choice left back which will enable us to get the best possible and rested Stevens when called upon, rather than the injury ravaged player we had last year. I get the feeling we're building for the 3421 Schumacher used at Plymouth. Interesting to see what central defenders we bring in now. Mmaee Bae Manhoef Laurent burger McCallum new cb new cb Wilmot Tchamadeu Johansson In the 3421 he used at Plymouth were the 2 behind the striker like wide forwards or 10’s?

I must admit I've never heard of him. Is it a concern that Norwich don't want him? They are not much better than us. Think they did , Godders Maybe decided time to move on, we offered him more money or he didn't want to stay in Norwich and marry his cousin

Yellow submarine called it right a week ago on the Pink un He's going to Stoke on more money
Seems good going forward with a great first touch with a long throw. Dodgy at defending a bit like Hoever so should do well for us

Another Tymon? I think Tymon would have done well in a Schumacher team with a bit of coaching.

Happy with that, out and out LB with Stevens as competition.
Yeah mixed reviews, but let’s face it never going to sign a Roberto Carlos type we’re we

He wasn’t perfect but leaving us with only an injury prone Stevens at LB. It was like AN was trying to get sacked. It was deadline day and only about £1m. Tymon would be absolutely perfect for how we are trying to play.

That's bad news. Looks like the Tree people are going back to their halcyon days where they got Stephen Ireland and Kenwyne Jones mixed up in the car park...

I'm fine with that. Although Norwich fans weren't skating him and classed him as improved, the comments about lack of pace and defensive ability concerned me.

I presume if we don’t sign him immentantely then the posts on here will turn to , never wanted him , never liked him , he’s shit , not the kinda player we need , we can do much better etc etc But if the deals back on later ,it’ll be back to fantastic , just what we want , always liked him etc 😀

But it’s irrelevant www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stoke-city-transfer-josh-tymon-8722237The 24-year-old has made the deadline day switch to South Wales for an undisclosed fee believed to be worth about £2.7m. It was reported as £2.7m - which I thought was surprisingly decent at the time. Could be clauses involved? He seems to have done very well for Swansea though, and would have been interesting to see him in a Schumacher team

I still think it’ll happen and he’ll be a welcome addition. Might be just the club dampening down the rumours as they don’t want to release the details yet.

That’s a shame if it’s not happening.
Looks a very good addition on a free. Don’t think there will be too many better free transfers than this in the championship and left back is a key position we need to fill.
Mcallum and Stevens would look a solid pair.
