Looking at that shot of TGO striking the ball reminds me of the advice he said Macari gave him. Advice he said triggered his goalscoring greatness.
Don’t look at the goal. Look at the ball. Strike it well the rest looks after itself.
Well if you strike a ball like TGO it does.

I flew to Florida the next day and the following weekend broke the news to a family of Stockport fans in a British pub in Miami that they'd lost to Pboro that day . Not easy to get the scores in those days
The young lad started crying..was trying hard not to laugh .

I was living in Wembley at the time,my folks had come down from Yorkshire for the game too.I had to nip over to Ealing or somewhere and I’ll never forget how excited I was to see all these cars from Stoke with the scarves out the window etc etc round by Hanger Lane. What a day that was.

I know the old Wembley Stadium was old and dilapidated and needed replacing but it did look bloody fantastic and HUGE compared to the current version which just looks like another Premier League ground.

Yep must admit I was'nt impressed with the new Wembley. For me it did'nt have the atmosphere and history of the old one. Although it was an absolute crackin'day when we beat Bolton 5-0.

Quite the new Wembley, not as good as other grounds but a massive match day improvement for me on old, archaic thing.

The Old Wembley must have been one of the only places with toilets worst than The Boothen As for the Autoglass, always remember large contingent of aggravated Stockport fans giving it the "big un" at Wembley Central after.

The Old Wembley must have been one of the only places with toilets worst than The Boothen As for the Autoglass, always remember large contingent of aggravated Stockport fans giving it the "big un" at Wembley Central after. We waited back for ages, had a beer as staying in the hotel by the stadium so could walk back The team came out with the trophy and let us all have a lift of it and a few had pics. Stockport coaches were leaving and was a sea of V signs. My gf at the time lifted the trophy up for them all to see ...I think Lee Sandford took a bit of a shine to he as had a good look at her arse and didn't try to hide it 😁 Was a really drunk old fella who did a Nobby Stiles dance moment with the trophy A couple of nights later the trophy was in the Rising Sun pub in Scholar Green, Harry Burrows' pub so we got a second touch of it as lived near it and went in most nights
