Fifa to explore impact of moving domestic matches abroadFootball's world governing body Fifa is to set to establish a working group to look at the impact of playing competitive domestic matches overseas. A legal settlement agreed between Fifa and match promoter Relevant Sports in the USA has, in the words of Premier League chief executive Richard Masters, "left the door ajar" for league games to be played in different countries. Greed no doubt will win out. Again.

Impact: ruination of football both in the nations whose games are played abroad and the nation they play in.
FIFA can just pay me the fee now.

Won't ever happen, well not with British or German clubs at least.

Feel like this has been normalised by US sports coming to London etc, and FIFA (plus the European leagues) would love to somehow make money out of it too. They can get fucked but it's definitely closer than it's been before. The CL is already ruined for next season, not that I watch it till it's a knock-out affair. What a bloated monstrosity the beautiful game has become. Saturation on TV, ridiculous ticket prices, criminal administrators and owners.

I was talking to my mate in Boston the other day and he was telling me about all the preseason 'tours' going on this summer with the 'Big 6' pretty much represented and games already sold out.
What made me laugh though was that in one of these faux tournaments (that included some big European names) was Wrexham !!!
Money talks and sadly this is just another step to taking the game away from the working class's.

League Cup moved to preseason with rounds 4 to the final played abroad where the sponsors pick up the bill for all the clubs and I’d be ok.

As someone who is from and lives in the US, I hope this never happens. We have a league, which we all know is no where near the PL and maybe as good as the bottom of the championship. Support for any sport, especially football, is best when it is local and not money driven. But this is now the world we live in, money drives everything. They do this with the NFL by playing in London and Mexico City and those games are mostly a joke to the fans here in the US.

I personally find it funny that FIFA et al say they care about player welfare but think that shipping them around the world even more won’t lead to greater injuries. It’s almost like they don’t actually care….

It's time for uefa and Conmebol to make good on the threats and split from FIFA. The battle will be for the heart of Concacaf

If this should ever happen, then I think I'd rather stay in the Championship.
I also believe that the FIFA will say yes, but once again, managers, players and supporters will change their minds.

Again it's easy to stop. Fan power just like they stopped Super League. I think its important to take note of what our very own Malcom Clarke posts about the Football Regulator and the FSA in respect of current debates with clubs about Fan Engagement and the potential for the development of “shadow boards” (supporter led). We are possibly moving into times where strong and robust Supporter Clubs will be increasingly important. NB: Thats not to detract from the excellent work currently going on at SCFC. Room for constructive improvement…….always.

This year many will have come off the back of the euros too. Clubs not help themselves with this shite.

They should not be derided themselves simply due to the fact that a rich american actor has decided they're his plaything.

Success brings support- we were getting 10k gates regular pre prem promotion.

B) He’s found a way to take a small club to a worldwide name. That’s incredible and just shows the power of clever marketing that any club could pursue.

Fantastic idea.
We could have Vale v Crewe in Prypiat.
There’d be no difference in the environment or the locals.

Why do Grimsby, who are currently in League 2, deserve to be in non league darkness? Why shouldn't Wrexham have rich benefactors like us?
