Looks like he’s been fired

I'll take full responsibility for this.
I literally JUST fired him last night on my football manager game as the fitness of the squad was shocking and then this happens.
Thinking about it, it is actually quite strange that this happens the day after I sack him on the game 😂

Most managers like their own physios around them who they know and are comfortable with
All physios at that level are highly regarded tbf

Schumacher made a big thing about the preseason being pretty intense - maybe part of gearing up in the background for a new fitness regime?

I get the medical side is different but I'd have thought the fitness regime might have medical implications and they need to work as a team. I might be wrong and this is just a one off decision and not part of a wholesale change.

Bring back Richard Gray! Dont recall us having many serious injuries during Lou’s reign Lol, had a few interesting chats with Gray about his time at Stoke. Definitely an era where the physios used to be governed by what the manager wanted as opposed to nowadays where the manager has to heed the medical advice first!

There’s not just one way to do physio. Perhaps those behind the scenes wanted to practice it in a different way going forwards.

Is Steino still a physio? Probably just coincidence, but I saw him in Alsager on Thursday with two older suited & booted guys. Looked like they’d been to some type of formal meeting. Wasn’t aware that he’s local…🤔

Richard Grays always been locally based since he left SCFC. I had him for physio after an ankle injury in 2000. He's only based in N-U-L, here's his practice churchlanephysiotherapy.co.uk/

Never knew he had anything to do with working for the club though, had a few chats with him about Stoke but he didn’t go into much detail about his work for them. Nice guy, and in fairness to him, I’m not much of a talker anyway.

Does seem a real strange move. Someone who is so respected by the players, current and former who all mention how good he's been.
Josh Laurents comment of "All the best Meacy. Ain't no better out there than you" sounds kind of ominous in a way that who ever replaces him won't be as good.
I get figure of speech can be taken out of context but wonder who they've got lined up to replace him that could hopefully be as good if not better than Nick Meace.
Wonder if the club hieracy were concerned about familiarity and considered a change was in everyone's best interests but I'd of imagined a good player/Physio relationship would be a good thing within a club. I don't know, sure there's a reason and cause behind their decision.
