The club have big plans for this lad, signed his first professional deal today. A loan next season or is it better he's in an around the first team squad with the occasional spot on the bench?

I’d say loan given as he’s only just starting playing for the u21s.
Never seen him play so it’s interesting to see if the hype is real.

Watched him against Arsenal live the other week and despite giving a penalty away he looked a very decent prospect on the night. All his family members were there watching him too and he was a very accommodating young man who had his photo took with my youngest granddaughter. I would say a loan may suit him and get him used to the physicality of league football

saw quite a few of the U21 games, Dixon and Sidibe stood out as being the two with the most potential to push on by quite a margin

Problem with loan deals is if they're not getting regular game time which of course is not guaranteed. You want the level to be decent but the higher the division the less game time potentially. In that scenario they'd be better off playing for the under-21's and training predominantly with the first team. Also be interesting to see how close to the first team squad Baker and Okagbue are next season, or whether they will go out on loan again? Much better to have these players in the building rather than deadwood like Ciaran Clark

If not ready for league 2, put home somewhere local a division or two lower. I think that the National League Prem allows for 1-3 month loans. Such a deal seems ideal for young players. Give them experience of senior football then bring them back and help them build on what they’ve learned。

Next season seems too soon for Dixon though. So if he can get a league two loan he’s doing well imo.

Not sure a loan would be good eligibility wise. He’ll be here next season

Didnt he make the bench at some point this season? I seem to recall a picture of his kit in the dressing room

He is a Shawcross protegee and obviously one of the reasons he has signed is for his mentoring. As he's only just 17 I can see him staying here until Christmas at least to continue his progression in the u21's and to see how close he can get to the first team having been in the squad at just turned 16 last year. He talks about being appreciated and trusted, and being told how good he is and what his pathway will be, coming in everyday and knowing the people around him. I can't see a loan being top of his priorities and the reason why a lot of young players like him are not happy at the top clubs. Whatever is decided I am sure Shawcross has discussed it with him and Jayden will be happy with it.

It’s very unlikely that players under 18 will go out on a proper full time loan arrangement as there are a lot of safeguarding concerns these days as they’re technically minors. They’re not even allowed to share a changing room with adult teammates.
It’s essentially too much hassle to be worth doing. So he’ll play for the U23s for a year and maybe get a loan next season if his development continues on the same trajectory.

A number who have come to Stoke have referenced feeling like they belong and matter and having a clear route to the first team.

We do (minus Crewe). Had players on loan at the others either this or last season.
