Wasn't it the Hi-Tec kit in 86/87 that wasn't available as it was a cobbled together last minute thing?
At the very least they were in very short supply......

Always wanted the 1985-86 Home shirt but not sure it was ever sold (even then) I'm pretty sure I got it from Bourne Sports. Bourne Sports was the bollocks, you could get loads of stuff in there you couldn’t get anywhere else. Was after a pair of Kelme boots once and they were the only shop that had them

Sure I read on matchwinner twitter once that they’re flexible with clubs and can produce more stoke dependant on demand- from their thread seem to be uk produced too.. so guess if they sell well they’ll get more in…
Wished they’d done the purple 92/94 away.
Still - what they’ve done is quality.

This was the reply from the Stoke twitter store when asked about restocking, "Hi, we don’t currently have any plans to restock the matchwinner items. They were intended as a limited run. We do still have some stock in-store which is open from 10am."

I like the yellow away kit but I associate yellow and black with the Vale so decided to hold back on that one.. already got a retro jacket which I think is better than this new one and I was one of the few not really bothered with the cagoule.

I know the Umbro kit in the first season after relegation was a rehashed/reused Sheffield United shirt with Stoke badge plonked on it. Sure the Hi-Tec kit was available for sale but in very low numbers and most likely only in kids sizes as replica kits weren't really something adults really bought back then. My bro definitely had the yellow with blue sleeved Hi-Tec away kit. I managed to get the Hi-Tec tracksuit Stoke used at that time which bizarrely enough never even had a Stoke badge on it!

Was after a pair of Kelme boots once and they were the only shop that had them Bourne Sports tracksuits as worn by the ball boys.....now THAT is retro! It also had a proper smell for a sports shop too. Obvious reason behind Everton fans pilfering the shit out of it during the 80s as per "Naughty"

I was responsible for the Hi Tec kit deal that season. The original company for whatever reason did not fulfill the contract and I managed to get the club a deal via my footwear sponsors. It was somewhat of a rush job, eleventh hour plus and the club were grateful at the time. I picked the yellow and blue away strip colors too. As for the tracksuits, the club bought a job lot and chose not to have the badge on them.

Just been down the club shop and managed to get both home and away matchwinner tops in XXL. But there are very few left on the racks, less than 10 of each anyway.
They really are good versions of the originals, I’m sure back in the day that the logo and badge were felt type pressed on material and the ansells logo was like rock hard plastic. In addition the club badge was too small too. On these the logo and badge are embroidered and the sponsor is like the felt they used on the ASICS retro tops.
My one and only gripe is that the club badge is too curved on the bottom half, the old ones used to be more angular as they came to a point. Overall I’m well impressed with them and hope they do more.

The solid Green double material designed Asics top, & the Yellow Le Coq shirts were the tops that used to chaffe my nips the worst whilst using Stoke tops to play footy in! Can still feel the pain they caused now!

Noticed this at the time. There've been no pics of and it doesn't seem to be in the shop (yet) - unless it's supposed to accompany the "Pink" 3rd kit? Pity, because it looked like it would sell well. Edit - found this pic. The pink kit with pale blue keeper's 'jersey' is close to channeling my classic Stabilo Boss colour way kit. I still maintain that instead of Bet 365 we should just have ridiculously cool outlier shirt sponsors like Stabilo Boss or Hovis. Most 'keeper kits are definitely in the "DayGlo*"/hi-lighter colour range these days. * Is it just me that still uses that word instead of "florescent"?

Florescent is a stretch (and borderline incorrectly used as strictly speaking its lacking in phosphor or back lighting), and hi-lighter is just something used by second rate manufacturers and philistines. I find myself having to deploy "high-lighter" in office scenarios and it is utterly depressing. (I am a little bit obsessed with Stabilo Boss). (I've had a long day). Pedants need not reply.

Poly Styrene was a genius and decades ahead of her time. I own three copies of Germfree Adolescence. We used to take our Scout Group to Lancaster University for a week in the late 80s, early 90s. Every year I would put either Identity and/or Germfree Adolescence on the Jukebox in the Bar. Not sure what the other leaders thought, but the kids loved them.

I was about 7 and saw on TOTP. I liked those DIY groups. Was in a few myself in later years . Couldn't play a note but who cares? Had the trousers and the hair. Well ...the folk who threw stuff at us, maybe they cared 😁

I had the hi-to home top, which I loved as a kid, but the quality of that home shirt was questionable with many different pattern variations. What I really liked was that they incorporated the red sleeves into it. I was a fan of the away colours too, again as a kid I saw those solid sleeve colours as harking back to the Umbro pinstripe kits which I was a fan of.
