Will be interesting to see how this market pans out over the next 20 years. There doesn't appear to be much of a private market outside govt subsidies. Dealerships struggle with valuations of cars over 2 years old. I see trouble ahead to be honest. Particularly as the Chinese seem to have a worrying control on the market anyway. I wouldn't touch one with a barge pole to be honest.

It saves us money driving around town as the braking recharges the battery. Yet, it still has gas when needed.

I think China's improved relations in the Middle East are also subconsciously influencing western policy in the region. The last few years have seen trade from the middle east to China increased by a couple hundred billion while trade to America is slowing. China also helped broker a peace deal between Iran & Saudia Arabia and I believe both countries either have or are in the midst of working towards diplomatic relations. The BRICS group has also seen Egypt, Iran, UAE and Ethopia formally join this year too. Alot of middle Eastern countries welcome this because the USA is still seen in unfavourable terms across the region and as a country which causes tension rather than creates peace. Being less dependant on America for trade is something most are supportive of. Whether all of the above has influenced Americas recent actions in the region I'm not too sure. But China seems to be brokering peace and investing while America seems to be causing conflict and creating tension.

China are far more stealthy with their intentions, the Americans have just been thick and gung ho. The Chinese are like reticulated pythons.
