This is quite hilarious and shows how US .... and UK ties itself in knots over its position towards Israel
The House passed a non binding Bill adopting the IHRA definition of Antisemitism. It was clearly aimed at restricting the Student Pro Palestinian Protests
Quite sensibly US Federal Government has no intention of doing so, despite intense lobbying.
This was the same IHRA definition that Corbyn was crucified ❌ for (pun intended ) because he disagreed with some of the definitions. As did it's main drafter Ken Stern who rejected it for the exact same reasons
The Galactically stupid Matt Gaerz Voted against the Bill because it rejects the idea that the Jews collectively were responsible for killing Jesus.
The equally stupid fellow MAGA Marjorie Taylor Greene also opposed the Bill but in hér case she went further because she misinterpreted the Bible to say that Jesus was handed over to Herod to be crucified by the Jews .... err did you mean the Romans

I've always found the whole "Pontius Pilate washing his hands and letting the crowd make the decision of who to free and who to crucify" thing a bit iffy anyway.
It doesn't state anywhere in The Bible, and therefore seems very unclear to me (and presumably the thousands making the decision at the time), whether they were voting for their favourite to win and go free or if they were voting for the bad guy to lose and get offed. It's exactly that kind of lack of clarity that saw Ant and Dec and BGT get in shit loads of problems with OFCOM.
This whole debacle was never going to end well.
