Physically, he looks an absolute powerhouse and looks to be one of those rare players with telescopic legs

So i wonder if we'll be announcing any other signings like Viktor pre official Transfer window opening on 15th June... feel like possibly Sam McCallum and this lad from Fleetwood have got a strong swell of rumours

Sarpong-Wiredu - Decent age, looks physical and imposing, but at 24 there are players doing a lot better than getting relegated from League One...Hmmmm

We've had plenty of players from relegated sides of the years. The name to debunk that argument every time is Robert Huth.

Luton in particular have been great at taking relegated players and building a team.
Carlton Morris relegated with Barnsley is just one to name.
Ipswich have used a similar recruitment strategy also, taking relegated players or players cast off from teams above them.

Relegated from the one above or the same league I get, but this is one who just went down with Vale to League Two. He does look good from the footage, but 24 isn’t that young - Burger, Cundle and Junho all younger than him and proved themselves to be decent at this level already. I’m not saying don’t sign him because there are good players at any level, I just wouldn’t be completely sold on it based on that.

Signed by a struggling Premier club from a struggling Championship club looks like the sort of signing fans would be disgruntled by. Yet 5 months later Palace's fortunes have been transformed since he's joined and he has got himself in the provisional England squad.

If we can successfully pluck a young player from League Two - Junior T, who has stepped up 2 leagues and doesn't look out of place in Champ, then i've got some confidence with the correct due diligence + direct knowledge via SJW from his time at Fleetwood, that he'd be ok

Wharton was always going to be a very good player and is 4 years younger. He’s on a different level to this guy. I’m not even saying don’t sign him, I like that we might go down this route, I’m just pointing out that he’s 24 and just been relegated to League Two. I don’t expect him to be tearing the division up in the way some of our other players have, despite being younger and from overseas.

True but Palace signing a player from a struggling Championship is very similar to us signing a player from a relegated league 1 player given that we were very close to being relegated ourselves. I don't like how we use age and struggling team to judge a player by. Our squad is very short in that middle twenties age bracket and he has experience.

If Southgate is brave enough to select him I think he improves Englands chances of success hugely. He’s excellent.

If it's from Homzy, there'll be something in it, you'd think.
Not a blockbuster, but another option on the left would be useful on a free - especially if Vidders is off?

Wasn't Jamie Vardy a very late bloomer as well? ![8-|](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/rY_vRFLA3mqqdMbEG4cF.gif) At the age of 23 he was playing his football at Stocksbridge at level 8 in front of crowds of just over 100, getting £30 a game and working daytime in a carbon fibre factory in Sheffield where he struggled with a bad back. so yes, very much so. Didn't play league football until he was 25.

Saw Murphy a few times last season, both live and on TV. He blows very hot and cold. On his day a decent player, when not on his day he's Peter Kopteff reborn.
Branagan is the player we need from Oxford.

It's a squad game and we need options. Pace on the wings was missing last season. I'd be pretty happy with signing him for free on a 2/3 year deal.
