Blackburn are probably safe but if they went down,I think we could do worse than harry pickering for left back We should have signed him and Ng when we had the chance. I assume Morris knows him? Prefer Junior to NG tbh

Mark Travers, Bournemouth stopper had a m.o.m performance last night against the wolves, possibly out of reach getting him back ?

toffollo would be perfect . I’d imagine welbeck has done enough for a new deal at BHA. Cairney- good shout and can’t be happy with the game time he gets at Fulham… little bit too ambitious in our current state. Toffolo's a great full back but he'll be 29 by the season starts. Not sure we need the baggage that came with his gambling issues either. Harrison Burrows is only 22, and in my opinion is the better player. If Peterborough don't go up, we really have to get in there because I think he'd thrive under Schuey's style. Butrows will be a target for most of the championship.

Don’t think Coady is either He’s hardly played in the Championship this season. He’s more realistic than Wellbeck and Cairney. And he’s the type of player we need more urgently too. hoping the scouse connection with sjw and the boss could help with this. A true leader.

Yeah I was wondering if we might be using the Scouse connection in our favour. At least they could understand each other.

If we got Coady in, I’d seriously consider trying to get McNally back to partner him. Luke is the kind of player who’d flourish better with a more no-nonsense defender alongside him.

He’ll be well aware of how Schuey’s Plymouth performed in League One last season, and Schuey would need to sell it to him that he can be a ky part of the front foot football he wants to instil. Of course, the pay packet would have to pass muster as well.

Agree with that but I also think Rose and Wilmott would be better with a no-nonsense defender alongside them. The problem we have at the moment is you can't put together a solid defensive unit between the three of them - they are too similar and none of them is a natural leader.

This might sound daft but i would go.for Delap again. Sometimes its 2nd 3rd time loans that click with young lads.Ala Harry Kane and the winger we had from Villa who was shite but now flying with Hull. First time out loans can struggle. I said a while back that we are pretty adept at burning bridges when it comes to loans. Whether it’s young players falling out with the coach/manager or other reasons, we have been good at signing promising players then underutilising them. Sima and the Wolves winger being just two along with Delap. I know we’ve used some players and you can’t help injuries but loads of our Championship loanees seem to have done much better at other clubs. Again some players improve as they move on like JPB and Clarke but it’s galling to see how good we could’ve been if we had those players click when at Stoke. I can see some clubs being reluctant to deal with us off the back of how we’ve used their players, burned bridges maybe. Hoever coming back was a welcome surprise for me.

More a question of who do we get out, because this squad needs an overhaul again. Iversen - go back- can do better Hoever- hopefully some kind of deal can be sorted Wilmot - not good enough McNally - return from loan - not good enough Rose- not good enough to start, squad player Laurent ? Not sure he’s the captain who takes us up Vidigal - not good enough Ennis- not good enough Wesley- contract expired Haks - loan expired Campbell ? Leris- squad player at best. A lot of business to do

I’d also be tempted to bring McNally back if we can find an experienced, quality defender for him to play alongside.

We need a total clear out, none of them are good enough.

There’s no chance. For me (assuming that we even stay in this division) it’s baby steps and try to get into the top half. McNally alongside a decent partner at the back is more than capable of helping us to do that.

Ethan Erhahon (Lincoln) and Bosun Lawal (Celtic currently on loan to Fleetwood) would be two exciting additions........

To be honest, the state of some of the comedic performances we’ve seen at centre half, old versions of Huth and Shawcross would have done better never mind young.

All areas of the team could be better, but the glaring deficiency is the strikers, not one in double figures, hardly in single figures in fact. Must go all out for a decent striker, none of the current ones are worth keeping.

Our big problem with loans is getting them when they are too young, how many loans have we had, when we give them experience and championship game time, help there development, only for them to go back out on loan to another club, and with that extra year , have a brilliant season, I would be looking at the loan players that have been playing this season for other clubs, let them bring them on , and then get them them here

I'm running on the assumption that Schuey would try and implement a similar back three system that he had at Plymouth. If so, then I see someone like Coady in the middle of defence and maybe one of McNally or Wilmot on the right. Wilmot is the better player at moving and passing the ball forward as well as recoveries, whereas McNally is better at clearing, and winning his tackles and headers. What we're also missing is that left-footed defender as well for the other side.

So who have we actually been linked with ?
Viktor Johannson (Only credible link) Iversen (wasn’t there a fee agreed if we wanted him) Connor Coady (linked from someone off here) Galloway ( according to the Plymouth board)

Ideally a Keeper who won't concede more than 25 goals.
A Striker who can score 25 goals +
Midfielders who find a Stoke player with every pass.
Defenders who never make mistakes.
There you go,sorted.

Goalkeeper: One of Travers, Iversen, Johansson in that priority. Left back: At least a steady one with pace able to compete one on one. Central defence: Coady and Souttar (we need both) Midfield: Depends on who are leaving, but not in the same need here as other positions. Winger: With pace, able to beat his man regularly. Striker: Assante

Wouldn't be amazed if there was interest from us in Browne from PNE?
We love a PNE signing - links with Walters from Ireland and Gallagher.
Captain, reputed 'good egg', rated by PNE
