I honestly don't get it - he was an Everton fan apparently anyway for one thing! If you asked me in a parallel universe if I'd be more gutted missing a peno in a Champions League semi final for Stoke or World Cup semi-final for Scotland then it's Scotland all day! You can play in the Champions League every year of your career if you're good enough/ that way wired whereas you could be the best player in the world and never play in a world cup. Not sure which of those hypothetical scenarios is more unlikely in your parallel universe. Me missing a pen - I'm fucking lethal from 12 yards mate.

CBS TV coverage over here yesterday…. before the penalty shoot out: Jamie Carragher on making two of his three career shootout penalties: “The one I missed was for England, so not as important. I’d rather let my country down than my city down.” That’s why you hardly got picked you useless tit

He also had to compete with Keown and Jagielka for reserve spots at various times. I was so lucky to watch the defensive side of England as a child. We had some wonderful center backs. Shame most of the rest of the squad typically sucked 😂. Carragher would probably have a far better chance of being first choice nowadays.

I ran the Chicago marathon last Sunday and about 4 miles in thought I saw him stood at the side, I sort of pointed and said 'jamie?' thinking it could be someone that looked like him. The morning after I was in the Under Armor store in Chicago and he was in there, had a quick chat and his wife had run the marathon, he said she was in the hotel room 'in bits'

Never got this partisan approach to Club v Country? They are not rivals and never will be, you can happily support both, neither has to be diluted for the other? The hypothetical question of Stoke or England (or other) preferred champions is literally stupid tbh. I'd love Stoke to win every trophy going and the same goes for England - I don't have to choose. As for Carragher and England, everyone knows he's sour as fuck about it all cos basically he rarely got picked - who cares what he thinks? Most players see representing your country as the pinnacle of their career, and rightly so. Agree it is stupid. It's a way of posturing about how much you support your club. A bullshit dick measuring contest.

He's actually a pleasant chap, have met him a couple of times and a friend used to live near them, saw them quite a bit. Flobgate was gross obvs but most people aren't the cartoon characters we like to paint them as.

How people have the energy to hate Jamie Carragher is beyond me?
An alright footballer we didn't have many run-ins with and seems to know his stuff on the punditry side? Spitting was grim but deary me ... is that it? Genuinely?
Seems alright to me.

A pissed up brawl in a night club, caught with your kegs round your ankles pleasuring a lady you shouldn’t be pleasuring etc etc are all acts of folly….but flobbing on a young lass through a car window because your team had lost…..come on man.Provoked or not, that is grim behaviour. Don’t forget,Hitler was a vegetarian and liked oil painting 😉
