That’s one way of putting it. ‘Hell’ being a most appropriate word.

It’s the one court case I’ve ever meticulously followed - the highlights of the day’s proceedings used to be on BBC2 each night, the evidence against him was momentous - sadly one of the cops on the case, Furman, once made a racist comment caught on tape and OJ’s team seized the opportunity. Apparently even one of his team (Kim Kardashian’s Dad) is supposed to have claimed later that OJ probably did it.

We talked about many things - he was a history buff an had visited the battle site at Waterloo (worth a visit BTW) - when the topic of the Simpson case came up our learned friend's opinion was quite clear: "Guilty as hell".

Yes you'd struggle to find an American who thinks he's innocent. Inappropriate, but - on the day of the verdict, I was in a pub in Fulford with a friends Texan Stepfather who was over visiting, and I innocently asked at the bar, 'so, what do you make of the verdict?' his response (in the most fabulous deep booming American accent you've ever heard in your life) - "Goddam it Andy, that motherfucking godddam n***er bastard, we should have stormed the courtroom, goddam guilty as hell motherfucker!!!" I turned round to see the one and only black guy I'd ever seen in that pub for the very first time and spent my entire night apologising to him.

The point of my post was that the guy on the plane was offering a professional opinion (we also talked about Intellectual Property, which was my field at that time)- although he didn't use professional wording, I agree. I think it's more likely you'd struggle to find a Texan who thinks he's innocent.

Judge Ito and Marcia Cross became household names. For what it’s worth, I’m convinced they declared Not Guilty because the authorities were petrified the black community would have turned US cities upside down had they sent him to the cooler.

The fact they used the actual glove from the crime scene that was drenched in blood is laughable. Can they not find a same size and design glove? Why was he wearing gloves whilst putting on gloves that had been covered in blood? Took him 20 seconds trying to get them on and about 2 seconds to pull them off. Blood will shrink the gloves too.
