I've been pretty critical of the support lately...mainly the moaners at the games and some of the ridiculous messages slating TP on here.
The supporters today though, were fantastic.
I was disappointed only 15,000 were there, but vocally we were spot on and I'm hoping that'll be the kind of atmosphere now until the end of the season.
As for the game, a point was fair and I thought Zakuani and Cort deserved the MOTM ahead of Pugh (who also did well).
Mama was probably our only disappointing player on the day...I wish we had Marlon King!
So yeah, well done Stokie's and let's use this mini unbeaten run as a basis for a play-off push and to attract players in January.

Marlon King isn't that good. Dicko kept him quiet all game. I can only remember him having 1 shot - the one that went about 6 yards in the 1st half.

He's still a 20 goal striker and would link up well with Fuller, I think!

The fact that Marlon King didn't really have that much of a sniff at goal today is more a testament of how well we defended than it is of his ability.
I'd have him at Stoke like a shot. Ricci had another good game today but he's let himself down with those two missed chances at the end. Does anyone really think that Marlon King would have fluffed two great chances like that had they been at the other end?

Davef you really cannot be that critical of Fuller. Alot of the chances Marlon King would never have had simply because Riccy makes his chances out of nothing I would much rather have riccy than Marlon King

Sadly not Dave and it's a crying shame Ric's finishing is a bit wayward at the moment. He's such a great player, both exciting on the ball and tenacious, and creates so much for the team. I keep onto my Vale supporting mates how brilliant Ric is, I don't think they believe me because he doesn't score as many as he should or we would like!
I'd probably say Parkin is a better finisher than Ric too?
With regards to King...I thought Zak and Cort were magnificent and dealt with him as well as any defence could in this division.

I know it's hard to be critical of Ric and I thought he had another good game today, but in recent games his finishing hasn't really matched most of his other play. He hasn't scored for about eight games now and he needs to start finding the back of the net for us.
If I had a choice between King and Fuller, then I'd probably go with Fuller, but I'd still like to see King our team!

all strikers go through a lean patch, as long as the chances keep coming, so will the goals from ric eventually.
in the meantime we still have lawro cressie and ryan scoring.

Absolutely Banbury- Fuller produced the two only noteworthy saves of the game from Lee- both with his trailing foot but credit he spread himself well- looked a good keeper.

Given that it was a Sunday lunchtime kick-off, the vocal support was excellent.
One thing that specially pleased me was the sparing use of Delilah - I think it only came out ONCE near the end when we were really going for it. Makes a nice change from it ringing up every time we win a throw-in!

no1stokefan: Agree with your delilah thoughts. The atmosphere was good yesterday and was very positive. More of the same over the festive fixtures, the most important times of the year.

Wind your neck in JR. So he missed one chance, name a striker that doesn't, but I wouldn't have liked to have seen him clean through twice late on like Riccy was at our end of the pitch.
Like I said, credit to our defence for keeping him so quiet, but King is a quality striker at this level.

Folk have complained Dave that the stadium should have been built facing the other way- Think Marlon might think the same today after seeing that again Fact is Fuller made the keeper produce 2 decent saves- fail too se your point when you say you would have liked to see him have Fuller's 2 chances- why were you sitting in the Sentinel and fancied the match ball as a souvenir? I agree he's a handful but I'm sure if roles were reversed you'd chastise our player if he'd missed from 6 yards by a good 25 yards!!!! At least Sidibe's awful effort last week went for a goal kick. Just a thought. 'Ricci had another good game today but he's let himself down with those two missed chances at the end.' As you say all strikers miss- at least his efforts were on target Neck now wound in fella- be good King is very good at this level as you say and was impressed with our back line

I wouldn't have liked to have seen him with similar chances to those JR, I genuinely think we would have been in trouble.
I certainly don't think he's a better footballer than Riccy, but I do think he's a better finisher.

Personally wouldn't swap Fuller for King but both a handful- used to dread us coming up against Fuller when at Preston.
Think Fuller more creative and gets himself into better positions - was criticising him at one stage for shooting then thought back to Cardiff last season ???
Wasn't too disappointed in what I saw yesterday Dave- not the greatest team to watch but certainly look tough side to play against again this term- with Diao back it looks a lot better. Thought Pugh was very good yesterday.

I don't think I swap them either JR, but I wouldn't mind seeing them together in our team

Could handle that- didn't Pulis try to buy King before?
