I think that’s a stretch to say we’d get 35,000+ fans. Areas like Tunstall that should be Vale territory already have a much higher proportion of Stoke fans, I’d hazard a guess that apart from Burslem itself and possibly Stanfields/Smallthorne that’s the case all over the city and surrounding areas…. since Tunstall is now 80% Asian there’s no footie fans there Why do you say that,Asian is perhaps the biggest, largest fan base and most profitable region on the planet for football?

You do wonder why stoke / vale have never really made inroads into the city's Asian community in terms of expanding the fan base.

There is definitely more ethnic minorities going to the games these days which is great to see, but I agree we could do a lot more. I know Blackburn have made great strides in this area, ultimately it's about attracting football loving kids and their families whatever their backgrounds and ensuring they feel safe when they're at the game...........

It's the area of the city I spend the most time when I'm visiting home for that reason. Drive down the High Street and you'll see the main issue, the council bolted on a modern day identikit retail park onto a fairly thriving town centre and they have let it go to absolute ruin, it was absolutely criminal. Please don't insinuate the problems with Tunstall are down to the ethnic makeup of the area..............

Where I sit I can think 3 mixed race people that are regulars and that’s about it.

From my experience British Asian cultures tend to be quite fashion-conscious, especially young men. I wonder whether Stoke City is just not a fashionable enough brand for them to want to associate with.

Well I can tell you I have worked away section turnstiles for 15 years and there is only a handful of clubs with quite diverse fan bases most are white and I am not being racist just stating a fact.

How on earth would you know that How would I know what? I think he means this I dont think we have any minorites whatsoever on the Oatcake, Caribbean,Asian,African etc Not the rest of your post Edit- not to be flippant , but you can’t get more of a minority than a scouser supporting Stoke ..on here it’s only evident because I advertise the fact .. if I chose to hide that nobody would be the wiser And far from joking , as an ‘outsider’ , in 50 years ago coming down on my own I was threatened or abused several times for being a scouser ..first time on my own without my dad in tow I was rounded on and told don’t come back ..so do have a small degree of understanding into the challenges minority supporters might have ..how we make it easier , more welcoming remains a challenge ..but you really shouldnt need to earn your spurs or the right to wear your colours in this day and age ..it should be the default position for all

I dont really want this thread to go down this route but what I will say in response to your second point is that my partner is also from the Liverpool area and has now lived in Stoke for 4 years come this September. She is 63 now and extremely out going. She has had similar issues to yourself,in that people treat her differently and have been unfriendly and in some instances nasty to her. It seems as though the "friendly" image is only applicable to locals and any outsiders are frowned upon and not easily accepted. Its a mind set problem which indicates that the people are very insular but it should be talked about on another thread not this.

If, If, IF ..... If my uncle was a woman he'd be my aunty. We are what we are. The club are trying to improve, but as with everything any clubs do, there are ups and downs. Ican remember people wishing we were run more like Norwich, then when we were in our PL spell, Norwich fans were wishing they were run like us, and so on. Instead of wishing for impossible things, enjoy the anticipation of what will almost certainly be a better season next season and the upward trend we are starting. Long may it continue.

Why the fuck would any minority want to come and watch Stoke....? Last time I was there a steward was asked "what the fuck you looking at Gunga Din ?" ....all he was doing was looking at the crowd, doing his job. Then came the usual hilarious "come on Ting-Tong ( or something similar" aimed at Junho.....completely embarrassing.
