I could have murdered Haksabanovic on a couple of occasions yesterday.
In fact, I don't think he's hit a clean shot since he's been at the club. They're either skied, scuffed or blocked.

No,I think generally it’s a collective “oooh” if it’s quite close….if it’s miles off perhaps a giggle or two. Have you attended Stoke games for the last 5 years? I’ve been going for 50 years on and off,Ive watched us home and away several times this season and was there yesterday.

The only person who has the balls to shoot is typically sat near the half way line now when we attack. The rest are too scared to take a chance.

Might help if he played on the right rather than the left then he'd be coming onto chances with his favoured foot same with Manhoef on the other side Poor state of affairs but it all adds up

There's certainly a culture of "its not my job" going on. Receive ball, pass to Bae/Leris, receive ball, pass to another player. TAKE A SHOT!

No one wants to be the one that gets accused of being greedy if they screw up a shot when there was a pass on. So they pass and pass and hesitate till the chance goes away.

'Why don't we shoot more'
I know he's the Vale manager but seems a bit harsh

Couldn't for the life of me understand why Burger didn't hit it with his right foot when he was clean through. That was a real head scratcher

Shoot all day in practice, shoot all day in games. Take a shot ffs! For years we couldn't even GET the ball into the final third consistently. Now we can but apparently everyone is "afraid" to shoot? That's ridiculously cringeworthy. As for defense, just resort to claymores and anti-personnel mines with this current lot. We need to do something in the Summer about that.
Actually recall tons of "entertaining" misses during our PL days, some of which are likely still in orbit. Get the crowd involved - hit a few in the head! As hardheaded as most Stoke fans are, nobody will be injured.

Because it’s easier to pass responsibility. It’s the whole ethos of the club isn’t it? Absolutely no one who can make a difference has the bollocks to do it and tries to let someone else have a go. And the players do it with their shooting. They’re not willing to take responsibility and have a go. You mean like Hoever did? Yesterday and Hull? Again, more drivel from the non stoke fan that is you M

We have all the characteristics of a team that is a bit of a Frankenstein’s monster.
All the more reason to give Schumacher a pre season. Introduce some confidence and genuine patterns of play.

Certainly is, but some of decision making is laughable. Passing to someone surrounded by 3 players is not better than a bad shot. A bad shot could ricochet off something/someone and that could lead to anything.

I don’t think this is a stoke thing, it’s the way football seems to have gone since Barcelona tiki taka walk the ball in beautiful football. It happens up and down the divisions, even with shit teams, but it’s still frustrating. I still think if a player finds himself with a bit of space 25 yards from goal, they shud pull the trigger. If you don’t shoot you don’t score.

I can’t believe we actually have fans perpetuating this absolute bollocks either. A bloke on 10k a week won’t shoot because he might get sighed at. Read it out loud and try and not to laugh at how pathetic it sounds. SS's comments yesterday feed into the opinion it's the fans' fault, even if they were said with a smile on his face. For 20 minutes yesterday the fans were great, we slowly have any momentum eeked out of us when the opposition get a foothold in the game and we don't have an answer to respond. It's a lazy excuse and masks the real issue of underperforming players and manager. If they ARE offended by some comments or slight groans, go and ram it down our throats! Exactly this. Bournemouth players got booed off at half time a few weeks back when Luton were beating them 0-3 after a dire first half.. Did their manager question the Bournemouth fans booing them off and pity the pppr players for being on the receiving end of such fan expression?! 🤔 No way, I bet if anything he used that booing & discontent as a motivational tool to get his players focused and fired up to go out in the second half and turn the boo's into cheers. & that's exactly what happened, they scored 4 goals in the second half to make the final score Bournemouth 4 - 3 Luton! Were Bournemouth fortunate, were Luton lazy & then quickly shell shocked, matters not the reason really. The players turned the boo's in to cheers and a losing position into an ultimately fine comeback and 3pts! If only Stoke players could do the same. Granted we managed to fight back & gain a draw from a losing position v Huddersfield, but we all know that that's been the exception to the rule for the vast majority of this season!

As my nipper pointed out on Monday, we don't have the players who can pass the ball into the net but we have plenty who can twat it so why they don't do it more often is pretty frustrating.

It’s a total lack of confidence, it always is with these things. I’m sure Schumacher isn’t telling the players to “walk it in”, he must be more frustrated than anyone else

To be fair I've not read the thread but to answer the original question I reckon its the sign of a team that has no confidence. The mentality is totally negative. But I've noticed we've got a bit better lately. I think the tanker is turning. Little signs everywhere... Coming back from goals down... Winning convincingly at home... Crowd more up for it.....
Small steps, but I think we're making them.
