Went today with a neutral who relatively knows his onions. His opinions
Keeper is half decent Hoever looks a good prospect. Mcnally looks to have a ricket in him Rose ok at this level
Laurent div 1 standard Bae lightweight Baker treading water archetypal on all the set pieces stats will look OK but offering very little Burger looks champ level
Leris offers very little Ennis shocking shocking player div 1 standard at best
Mmae looks like he can do something Million looks very promising Habsanovic far better fairly direct than the guy he replaced.

I still haven’t decided what I think of Million, over several games. Half a game is quick to judge, despite him knowing his onions 😉
Haksabanovic did have a decent half though, I thought.

Whilst Junho has obvious qualities with his movement and technical abilities, he is lightweight as shown with the chance he had in the first half. Only problem is he missed Thompson!

Saw Unbiased Onions supporting World of Twist in the early 90s. Great band.

Sounds like the kind of person who looks down on lads playing ladsanddads instead of academy football

He’s not wrong.
I will never understand how players like Ennis make it professional, not without the basic ability of controlling a football.
Leris is the same, today he was either on his arse after every tackle or miscontrolling it.
As for Baker and Laurent, two big lads with the physical threat of a child.
Those around me were talking about Baker, apart from a free kick today and a free kick goal a while back, he’s done absolutely nothing in open play.

Did we pay a fee for Million? Blimey, I have just seen we have him for 3 and a half long years, so it needs to work out, somehow, I can't see it though, however hard I try.

Iverson - Has really come on over the last few weeks. I’d look at getting him in. Hoever - Has the odd moment but great going forwards. Mcnally - OK if he keeps it simple Rose - Average at this level. Feels like whoever plays out of our current CBs they need someone bigger and stronger beside them. Laurent - Decent as a sitting CM. Needs to be more disciplined. Bae - Good player will get better with a season under his belt. Baker - Good at set pieces but doesn’t offer enough in open play. Burger - Best CM at the club by a mile. Got the lot Thompson - Decent squad player but should only play as a last resort
Leris - Decent when we’re up against the better clubs as he’s got a good engine but not if we’re looking to win games. Ennis - Tries hard but doesn’t look good enough.
Mmae - More of a number 10 or a second striker. Good technical player but not a lone striker. Million - Looks a real threat should start every game for the rest of the season. Will worry LBs. Habsanovic - Got into some great positions but messed everything up. Stevens - Decent but injury prone
Of those in the squad today I’d keep / sign
Iverson Hoever Rose Bae Burger Mmaee Million
Support them with a
LB - young and pacey CB - A dominant one in the Huth / Shawcross mould DM - Pearson bit younger and more of an athlete STR - A younger fitter version of Steven Fletcher LW - With pace as Vidigal seems well out of the picture
I’d also go 4231

Didn't really offer an opinion on. Tbh I'm not sure whether it is a positive or not but seemingly we have something to build on of we can sign up Iverson and Hoever

Habsanovic - Got into some great positions but messed everything up. If he could use his left foot it would help. IMO twice in the 2nd half he had an opportunity to get a shot away and tried to put it back on his right , lost the opportunity or in one case just fell over !! Just looked on FCM he apparently has a giant throw IN !!!!!!!!! and 4 stars for a weak foot and we all knows its his LEFT.

In terms of that game that's a reasonably fair assessment but I don't think you can really judge a player on one game. The one's I'd really take issue with are:
1 Hoever. Bizarre player. Actually a very good footballer but at the same time one of the worst fullbacks I've ever seen in a Stoke shirt. His positional sense is just awful and that was a typical performance.
2 Burger had a poor game by his standards, I think he could be better than Championship level.
3 Ennis has limitations but he's shown up better than that.
4 Ditto Leris. He was excellent against Hull and had an off day.
5 Thought Laurent had a decent game and is pretty good at this level.
6 Not convinced by Haksabanovic and that game was fairly typical - always looks to cut inside, never goes around players and doesn't deliver. Gives the impression that there is something there but hasn't shown it.

I personally wouldn’t sign a single one of our loan signings apart from perhaps Iversen, he still doesn’t look much better than Bonham mind so the jury’s out for me on that one.

When has he ever played well as a defensive CM? In fact, when did he last play there? He can’t tackle and always loses runners. His only role, because he can’t pass, is the one he now has - the most forward midfielder free to run with the ball. He contributes little other than running forward

Instead he fannys out of tackles, doesn’t chase back, on the rare occasions he shoots it’s speculative at best. All this showy, caring, clapping, air punching is all for show. He’s not good enough.
