Replaced at half time. Dead balls apart, offers nothing and is a massive part of why our midfield doesn't function at times.

Any midfield, with Laurent & Baker as part of a 3, is going to really struggle.

Him and Laurent were invisible in that first half. As was Burger those 3 should be bossing it today, none of them turned up Thought Burger looked susperb in that opening 10 minutes then just completely lost the plot. Whelan said on comms he runs too much for a midfielder and it's spot on. Looks so much better when he just sits and sets the tempo. So erratic otherwise.

Not defending Baker as he was poor, but he wasn’t helped by the fact no one could hold the ball up ahead of him.
His game thrives off players who can play with their back to goal and bring him into play. None of our front three could do that first half.

I thought the midfield were poor today. Hull were carving though our midfield like a hot knife through butter in the first half.
Scrappy game suited Hull we needed the midfield to assert dominance and they didn't do that was the right decision to sub him. Bad game but move onto the next

When baker and Laurent play together, it always amazes me that baker plays deeper with Laurent generally being the more advanced.
Given the attributes of both you’d think it would be the other way around.

The only player they had booked was for a foul on Junho. Second half he was moved inside to accommodate Haks and got a lost but never stopped chasing and some of the interplay between him, Million, Hoever and Mmaee on the right and him and Haks on the left was delightful. One of the reasons we lost it in the last ten minutes was that he completely ran out of steam.

Him and Laurent were invisible in that first half. Neither Baker or Laurent are of the required quality that will see real sustainable progress for Stoke City. Both are journeymen at this level and will in the next two seasons be lucky to play at Championship level.

I think he improved second half when Mmaee and Manhoeff came on. I don't see what there is to criticise him for, he runs himself into the ground every match and so many times when you think he'll lose the ball he comes out with it through determination and good footwork. At the moment his work in the penalty area could be better but he is still very young.

Given the attributes of both you’d think it would be the other way around. It was a game of two halves for Laurent today, first half he was the worst player on the pitch as a No. 10 and second half as a deep lying midfield player he was the best player on the pitch. I really have no idea what Baker's best position is.

Well he’s the only person in the team capable of shooting so I’d suggest a position where he may find himself relatively close to the opposition goal as often as possible may be a start?

I agree but Baker has flattered to deceive for his entire career and that's the reason he has been loaned to God knows how many clubs over the last decade. I've lost patience with him and I just hope we can get shot of him in the close season.

I don't think we can keep picking a player because he can pop off the occasional decent effort on goal.
