Anybody noticed the complete lack of any SCFC news in the Sentinel ( online as I live abroad ) somewhat surprising as we have 2 vital Easter games this weekend starting tomorrow.
Bugger all on the club website as well.

Yes I thought that strange, I know it's been international week, but nothing from the manager since post match Norwich. Let's hope they have been working their butts off to come out all guns blazing👍

Press conference today perhaps?
SS will tell us the lads have trained well during the break, remind us of our injury and suspension list, say we need to recapture the spirit of the 3 matches prior to Norwich, state how important our 2k+ following can be and finally tell us what a good side Hull are.
All while quietly reciting the Lords Prayer!

There seems to be a complete vacuum when Pete Smith isn't there, and presumably he's on holiday. The way things are going in regional newspapers, we're lucky we've got anyone covering us at all!

All these reshuffles doesn’t bode well….it’s absolute chaos atm it seems, no continuity at all🔴⚪️ Better than sacking the manager and bringing in a whole new group of coaches. Morris is a Stokie, has done well with the u21's, his face will be known around the club and he is obviously highly thought of. He may be the wise head who gives Schumacher the advice he so clearly needs in our situation with his extremely inexperienced coaching staff. I have no problem with it. It also gives Shawcross and Lawrence, two men who clearly love the club as much as us a chance to gain coaching experience with the u21's. I also read an article about the Stoke conundrum (rich owners but in tail spin) in which an ex-player claims it is the only club he has been at where players aren't really made aware of the importance of playing for the badge and it is far too comfortable with no real urgency to win,. So perhaps having a few coaches who like Walters can pass on that passion is a good thing. Article link for anyone who wants to read footballeconomyv2.blogspot.com/2024/03/the-stoke-paradox.html

In fairness he's pretty much the only regular reporter who writes for the sentinel with any sense of credibility and journalistic integrity so I'd probably rather go without than some of the shit the others serve up

Only news so far this week. Alex Morris has been promoted to the first team as coach Gooch and Pearson look likely to be out for the season. Stevens got through a behind close doors game against wolves last week so should feature this weekend. Tchamadeu could be back in a couple of weeks.

Morris news suggests Hughes isn’t up to the job and it might be deceptive but he seems to have little presence from the bench , at the end of the day it’s another poor reflection on Schumacher , be no surprise to see Morris / Gallagher in charge v WBA

In his video, SJW again takes full ownership of the decision to move Morris to the first team.
"I felt....."
Little bit strange how they're not trying to sell it as manager-led.

But he's not a manager, he's a head coach. Isn't the whole point of having SJW there is to take these kind of decisions away from the HC?

But he's not a manager, he's a head coach. Isn't the whole point of having SJW there is to take these kind of decisions away from the HC? Just would've thought directly controlling the first-team coaching team around him was the head coach's remit, regardless of his title, and adding Morris doesn't seem to be something he has directly requested. Not suggesting there's anything sinister going on, and he's probably perfectly fine with it, but it's interesting that Walters feels comfortable saying it was his call to add another senior day-to-day body in there, which has prompted a rejig throughout the academy. Numbers didn't seem to be an issue, with the 2 fitness coaches, GK coach (who seems to have a slightly broader remit), assistant and 2 first-team coaches already up there. Even when we had less of a tracksuit coach, like Mark Hughes, that seemed to be ample.

We haven’t had a decent coach/assistant at the club since Billy McKinlay, who the players didn’t like because he was too spikey and unwilling to bow down to overly sensitive, entitled footballers.
Neil’s assistant, Canning, was a joke and the current crop have the kind of playing and coaching CVs that wouldn’t be out of place at Leek Town. I can’t image the players are particularly inspired by any of them.

Believe the players here didn’t like his tendency to keep scratching his arm when it was next to microphones 🙂 🎤
