Are a fair few countries you need 6 months validity also and some don't check Egypt I think is one a few Asian countries also Some you need validity after you are leaving the country also I have 2 passports , nearly 5 years apart as realised once going into China that one of them wouldn't be valid to travel on just a few days before as only had a few months remaining.

More Brexit benefits, I don't know how we didn't think to do it earlier.

It's amazing how many people don't check the entry requirements into a country they are heading to, and then double check just in case, it's as if they need their arses wiped every day, thick cnuts.
This isn't new, it's been known about for a few years.

Just saw this on the BBC 1 o'clock News
Simon Calder was interviewed and he said this happens to about 200 people a day and about 100,000 a year, Bonkers
Is it stupidity or arrogance why this is still happening?

Maybe it’s remainers trying to clutch on to their comfort blanket for as long as possible

Why don't they just call them 9.5 year passports?

It took us 2 hours to clear passport control in Geneva at the end of January. There were 3 flights from the UK landing at about the same time so there were some 1000 non-EU nationals in a queue for 6 gates.
I don't get any of the Brexit thing. Immigration has gone so high its off the radar since Brexit mostly from India, Nigeria and China in place of Poland's brightest young things which we used to get.
This isn't what the the brexit boys I know thought they were voting for.

As it’s always been, if you don’t get to 12 months left and order a new passport you’re an imbecile

As it’s always been, if you don’t get to 12 months left and order a new passport you’re an imbecile I've got 12 months left as of next month but I've got a couple of stag dos coming up in May and then going away on a summer holiday at the end of June. Can't risk ordering a new one when it might not arrive in time, I'll hold off until July. Don't think I'm an imbecile for doing that but maybe I'm missing something? Thankfully mine was issued in April 2015 having just checked so the 10 year thing shouldn't be a problem.

Well worth paying for the post office service, they verify your id, review all your forms in site to double-check for any errors and send it off that day. My new one came back within a week.

It really shouldn’t be that hard of a rule to navigate, been that way for ages now. Airlines repeatedly ask you to check before you fly that you meet entry requirements for the country etc etc
With all the information at people’s fingertips It really isn’t hard to make sure you meet requirements before travelling, if you don’t then it’s your own problem…
