Taylor Wimpey are advertising new houses on their new Kings Moat development in Chester on the oatcake banners, the ad states its "a stones throw to the city centre".
This estate is on my route into work, and its 1.5 miles (and 30 mins walk) from the nearest house on there to the city walls.
Nobody can throw a stone further than 100m.
Valid "artistic licence" ?... or developers taking the piss ?

Good thinking Northy, but still literally a mile short I might ask their local manager if he fancies hurling one as far as he can, and for every yard short they donate a £1 to a local charity.

Maybe they were standing on top of a really big hill at the time of throwing?

Bet there isn’t a ring of water protecting a monarch there either Don't get me started on the naming of these estates, they're usually something "meadow", which just rubs the salt in about what's been lost. In this case though, given the green belt land they've stolen is prone to flooding, and the well known Kings school founded by Henry the 8th is opposite - they can just about get away with that one.

Finn McCool threw a chunk of Co Antrim into the sea and it became the Isle of Man
