Mark Hughes played two matches in one day.
On 11th November 1987. He first played for Wales in a midday kick-off in a Euro 88' qualifier against Czechoslovakia, before he was rushed onto a plane to play for his Bayern side who faced Borussia Monchengladbach in the DFB Pokal later that day. Hughes arrived late but was used as a 57' substitute and subsequently made history.

The yellow, green and blue kit synonymous with Brazil was only introduced in 1953 after a national newspaper competition to find a replacement for the cream/ beige strip they'd played in previously losing to Uruguay at home in the 1950 world cup final.

And the bloke who designed it was Uruguayan Best me to it 😁. Was a feature on him on BBC before a game years ago . Think he should have been doing his college studies or similar as a teen but put them on hold Actually to be more precise.. he was born in Brazil in a frontier town, but always felt more of a Uruguayan identity, worked in Uruguay, supported Uruguayan teams etc. Here's an excerpt from the book I read about it: "For a man whose best-known work is the strongest symbol of Brazilian identity, it comes as a surprise to learn that Aldyr supports Uruguay. In fact, I should have guessed by his choice of restaurant. His allegiance could not be clearer if he rode a horse around Pelotas in sky-blue jodhpurs singing the national anthem. At his home, a few miles out of Pelotas, a metal plaque with the word Uruguay is visible as soon as you walk in the front door. For good measure he has stuck a Uruguayan flag on the side of his car. Not only is the man responsible for the international image of Brazil unpatriotic, but he shares sympathies with Uruguay: the country that caused the need for his design in the first place."

Some wear Royal crest colours etc Netherlands Italy Germany Japan Australia New Zealand off the top of my head and Brazil previously

People probably know it but I still find this one mind-boggling:
This season is the first since 1930-31 when none of Stanley Matthews, Peter Shilton or Gianluigi Buffon make a first-team appearance.

Brian Deane made 3 notable achievements in one game. Playing for Sheffield Utd vs Man Utd In August 92 he became the first player to score a premiership goal at the same time also becoming the first black player to score a premiership goal. He also scored the first premiership goal from a penalty in that game.
