He's never been anything other than a jobbing Championship midfielder. Waste of money. He's on a 4 year contract too and at 28 I don't think we can offload him either.

Shame we couldn't have got rid of him, he costs more points than he earns. Most unprofessional player we have ever signed. No doubt he will be one of those we spend more time trying to offload than playing Most unprofessional player we’ve ever signed? Give over. Fullers a legend but I wouldn’t class his as professional. Wimmer? Berahino? Pennant? Arismendi (if the rumours are to be believed).

Is a slaughter house near Crewe does the same. i've had the pleasure of being there a few times . On a warm day the stench is hideous, it's worse than the smell of garlic bread. I love the smell of garlic bread! ...in the morning

I recall them trying when on the pitch but they just weren't at a good enough level whereas Pearson just picks up stupid yellow card after stupid yellow card for things he shouldn't even be getting booked for. It's like he collects them as souvenirs or he just doesn't want to play

If Pearson can sort his head out and cut down on the stupidity I still think he can be of use to us He clearly played all last season with this hamstring issue Which goes a long way to explaining why he was mostly disappointing If the op sorts it out & club and player follow the right fitness program then every chance he comes back better Can't see him not picking up stupid cards still though

Wilko came closer to scoring than this absolutely unprofessional jerk! If you’re taking drugs and partying during the week and then step onto the field as a player on Saturday, that is unprofessional! I don’t care if you score a double hat trick, that player has not fulfilled the requirements of their contract. Why is it so hard for people to either admit “poor choice of words” or “that’s my opinion” but instead try to argue the fact?

Wimmer I’ll give you, but it could be alluded to that his physical condition would be unprofessional. Berahino being caught drink driving in London the night before a game is unprofessional, and being banned for drug use. Pennant is arguable but playing with a tag on doesn’t scream professional to me. Arismendibis speculation but enough people validate the rumour.

Personally I think it’s a real shame he’s out long term. Was hopeful preseason with Schumacher would get him fit and mentally ready for the season. A focused Pearson would be a massive asset.

I really did a good job on myself forgetting what Berahino did, ok he wins the award for being the most unprofessional player we have ever had unless someone pulls someone else out of the hat. For now can Ben Pearson at least be the most unprofessional player we have at the club now?

Yeah it is infuriating but it is par for the corse for his role. He is stupid and Naïve with at least half though I will give you. The fact Mmaee was banished from the squad tells me hes the most unprofessional (although I rate him).

He might just be a yellow card collector as opposed to a stamp collector. It's got to a point where he either wants them for his collection or he likes missing games. I knew you would say Mmaee before I replied, I didn't really care who is the most unprofessional because in my eyes they both are. Mmaee had at least tried to get himself back in the team whereas Pearson tries to play himself out of it

I see your list and raise you John Parkin - talented but a piss head who liked ale more than keeping fit Peter Sweeney - even worse than Parkin, claimed to have gone Benidorm on the lash with some mates when he was supposed to be training in London Sam Bangoura MIA Jesse Rodriguez nuffsaid… (Can’t agree with Rick mind, but I understand the perception, he was late in… but last out) I’ve never been a Pearson lover, as I prefer better athletes in the middle, but he is a good player at this level. Just had a bad season. Is there any evidence that he is unprofessional, or is it the usual someone said it on Oatcake 3 posts later people claim it’s fact?

Pearson has been a real disappointment since he signed on a permanent basis and has been nowhere near the player he was, when on loan. Missed a fair few through injury and his discipline has also been infuriating (however, he is certainly not alone there). Given the opportunity I would prefer we cut our losses and moved him on, assuming there was anyone wanting him. I am really disappointed to be saying this as I genuinely had great expectations and was delighted when he signed.

And yet the Oatcake poster boy for professionalism Jordan Thompson had more cards per game than Pearson last season. I think he's being held to a higher standard because we expected him to be the player we were missing (a true DM) to be a good team, when we were also missing pace up front and a proper left back. So, we became dissapointed with him. It's a real shame he didn't get the entire pre-season to get fit to show what he can do. He needs to work hard to get up to speed once he's injury free. Finger crossed he'll be able to.

That said, referees book him for things they let others get away with.

Stupid tackles / fouls as well as being mouthy and just generally acting like a bit of a bell end on the pitch. Then you contrast this with the times when he could take a card for the team and doesn’t - it’s sort of infuriating. Personally think he’s a good player in this league and has a lot to offer

Pearson’s long term absence means we plan without him and that may be what SS intended anyway, but it does leave us without an option of the bench. Our midfield has a bit of a soft centre so it’ll be interesting to see whether Burger plays the DM role or we have to put up with Thompson. Bringing in Cundle makes us less physical so any midfield signing will tell us a lot about just how we’ll look to play. Laurent may still offer something but we are short of numbers in the engine room.
