If he's fit and looking decent in training, I would be tempted to put him in a 3 with Rose and Wilmot. He's a danger from set plays and a decent organiser, and would give us balance on that side with his left foot..

I thought this the other day. But any defence that includes Ben Wilmot is doomed to fail regardless.

Can he be any worse? At least he's a leftie CB!

Well the loss of McNally does affect his options to play the 3-4-2-1, now that formation would have to include the ridiculously unaware Hoever or the invisible Clark, and means the disasterous Wilmot is a shoe in!
Fuck me it's bad innit?

Seriously might as well play Shawcross as play Ciaran, they’re both effectively retired

3 games played, 3 defeats (QPR away, Plymouth away, Sheff Wed home).
I'd rather play Margie Clarke.

He's awful and will probably retire this summer. Sure our youth prospects are better, but they are both out on loan!

In a 5 maybe but he looked shit when he played didnt he. No better than rose or mcnally or wilmot. Did we not sign him first time round as we didnt want to pay him 20k? I wonder if thats what he is getting. Deary me. Hopefully im completely wrong.
Oh and if he was abysmal again, then never again.

The fact that 2 managers and a caretaker manager think he's not fit / good enough tells you all you need to know.

We’ll why was he signed in the first place then?? You could say that about most of the signings the 3 clowns made.

We’ll why was he signed in the first place then?? Sadly is always somethings that happened. Only need to look back to the Prem Days & file under Michael Owen and Eidur Gudjohnsen!

We have played him he was feckin shite - there is a reason nobody wanted him.
Desperation signings like that only happen when you decide to go with just 3 central defenders in your squad at the start of a new season - low and behold the most physical position on the pitch we pickup 2 injuries early doors and we have to take a punt on him.
24 new signings now and we have just 3 viable central defenders and arguably not a solitary viable left-back at the club.
Fail to prepare, prepare to play port fail

Be very happy if he never plays for us again.

Another whose standing has improved for an extended stay out of the team.
The bloke is atrocious. Whatever the question is, he's not the answer.
