As has been reported, Roy Hodgson is looking to get back into football. We could do a lot worse than trying to get him in the club in some sort of advisory capacity. The man has a wealth of experience not only in domestic football but also in international management.

Also at his age it’s about time he called it a day whilst he’s got a choice

Good grief. He was in the hospital last week. I don't think a stint at stoke currently will do his health any good whatsoever.

I fear that working with our players would finish him off.

Of course you are absolutely right but would anybody be that surprised if he was announced as our new manager by the end of the week?

Never wished him ill health but at the same time wouldn't be in any way wanting or advocating him coming anywhere near SCFC..
At 76yrs of age he really does need to kick back and relax. Keep going to footy matches by all means but he really doesn't need to be making big football calls & decisions at his age.
He totally ruined England as manager & certainly wrecked Ryan Shawcross's International career in one bizzare act of stupidity. He failed miserably at Liverpool as well. Takes some doing that does.
He isn't a person I particularly took to anyway within football, think he's been an okay football manager but certainly hasn't ever been elite & I'd rather have someone like... 🤔 Mick Mills or even Brian Little come back and have a role at the club before Roy Hodgson! Fortunately neither of them will ever happen so neither will Woy!

He’s 11 years younger than the leader of the largest organisation the planet has ever seen - the Pope. If he still has the desire then good luck to him. He is probably one of those people who can’t cope with the quiet life at home.

On health grounds alone, absolutely not. We manage to turn healthy 40-45 year old managers into ageing 70 year old knackers within 2 months of the job.
We'd absolutely finish Hodgson off without question.
Seriously, he needs to retire.

Couldn’t agree more mate and isn’t he the manager that told Howard Webb how much he detested us as a club and hated coming to the Brit?

It's one thing the Butler Street roof blowing off in a gale, or Adams missed penalty against Brighton, it's another having a minutes applause for Roy Hodgson in the opening day fixture in late August at home to Leyton Orient.

Mind you we already had that with 'mid-table Mick (O'Neil)' and decided it wasn't good enough!

Working on the basis that the Stoke job ages a manager by 10 years overnight he'd be dead before the Middlesbrough game.......

Left back in his day apparently so maybe we'd bring him in on a player manager basis until the end of the season

He is probably one of those people who can’t cope with the quiet life at home. That's fine & all well and good luck to him. But no thanks regards him having a role at SCFC! & whilst liking your comparison list, that does say more about the USA electoral system & the Catholic religion than it does Roy Hodgsons credentials at being a manager or any other upstairs role at a club for that matter. We all know that Biden is purely the face of the US political system & its others around and behind pulling the strings behind the scenes. To that end, Hodgson probably do quite well at Stoke! 😉🤣 With regards to Hodgson keeping active and involved in footy still, sure he can go and be a club president or advisor to the board type role at one of his old clubs who still hold him dear to them. Ian Taylor & Brian Little do that at Villa, keeps them busy and out the house without any major stresses. Job done

Obviously not as manager but would be perfect to have behind the scenes in some capacity.
