I can't remember what I was watching the other day, but in the background they had final score on the TV. The TV screen was well in view as they showed the premiership table... We were 9th and Southampton were 7th that particular weekend 😕

A good listen in my opinion, but I must admit when I see some of them so called players that let us down it really hurts inside!

Is this the worst Stoke side ever? No, surely Brian Little's team will take that honour. The difference is that was made up of poor players, our players are good enough to finish mid table in this league but the majority lack any bottle, commitment or fight.

Alan Ball’s side was worse.

I’ve been saying for months it’s a illusion these players aren’t good enough they aren’t under performing too many of them and all but 2 or three of last summers batch are totally ineffective at this level and worse still the dominate the forward looking positions.

Is this the worst Stoke side ever? Final side under Brian Little: C Muggleton (S Fraser, 87), B Petty, C Clarke, L Collins (A Woolliscroft, 45 (R Heath, 85)), N Mohan, J O'Connor, S Taaffe, D Oldfield, P Connor, D Crowe, B Small I could maybe see O'Connor and Clarke getting a place in the current team.

Alan Ball’s side was worse. The irony being quite a few were regulars for Lou Macari soon after.

The most worrying part for me was he spoke of Alex Neil... promotion with Norwich to the Prem, having a good Preston side, then promoting Sunderland back to the championship.... But things didn't work out for him at Stoke!!! That made me think, well if it didn't work for him at Stoke, after a couple of promotions with other clubs, then what chance is there with a lesser experienced manager (Schumacher)!!!
Crap!!! 😕

To be fair as bad as that line up looks its in no way a fair comparison to poor squads we've had of late. That team Little inherited/built had just been relegated from the Championship and he had absolutely no funds of any note to bring in any quality by way of transfers as Keith Humphreys had no cash for squad rebuilding. The vast majority of Brian Littles signings were Freebies of invariably other teams cast offs. At least Little would have that in his defence. One can only imagine how he would have faired had he been able to splash the vast amounts of cash as the recent incumbents of the Managers hot seat at ST4 have been privileged to spend (waste!)..
