50 years ago today since Bagpuss was first on. Didn't Bagpuss get cancelled after abusive language/behaviour towards the mice? Perhaps best not to delve too deeply into the relationship with the Rag Doll.

Used to creep me out that programme. Weird it was. I loved it's head I appreciate most will have fond memories of it. But the intro always seemed dour and miserable to me. A bit haunting almost. Following your thread I watched the intro back on YouTube and I feel exactly the same. Weird it was 😳

50 years ago today since Bagpuss was first on. watched a couple of very good documentarys last night on bbc4 aboutthe golden age of kids tv and oliver postgate with so many classic programs i dont understand why there isnt a KIDS UK Gold full of the likes of bagbuss and trumpton
