Did anyone else notice how John looked today? He looked very unwell, voice was stuttery. He was shaking and he looks skinny and almost malnourished. Any ideas?

You can't argue he doesn't have a passion for the club, but if it is now driving him to ill health then he possibly needs to give it up.
Really do hope his latest British punt comes good for him - and better times lie ahead for him and us.
Whatever I think of his ability to run our club - I hope there is nothing seriously wrong with him and wish him the best of health

When you look at images of him online, he looks well, and normal. Now he looks so underweight and his face just sags.

He always reminds me of an older version of Ian Holloway, which is worrying as Ian is older.

I was just going to post the same after seeing the Junho thread. Took me by surprise to be honest. I'm sure he's fine but wasn't a good watch.

Feeling a bit guilty about criticising on here. Hopefully the stress of the idiots he appoints letting him down time and again is not getting to him too much

John Coates was in my class at secondary school.
(It’s my “lame to fame”).
My memory of him was that he was a thoroughly decent sort. I doubt that’s changed, it was his very nature.

You know better than most of us on here mate so I’m more than happy to take your word for it…he’s human and what’s happening here will surely be getting to him 🔴⚪️

I just know he was a decent sort back then and I can’t believe that’ll have changed since.

Always had a bit of a gaunt complection but looks a bit frail.
As a few have said, genuinely nice fella who really cares and some would blame him for the size of Wagon Wheels

After the Leicester match it really did spoil my weekend so I can imagine it had the same effect and some on him.

His dad has looked old since the 1980s, so I guess it runs in the family.

He always comes across as a very nice, down-to-earth bloke. No side to him at all.
He's obviously doing his best as he sees it and is a lot more grounded and humble than I'd be if I had his money!

I think JC is a good man and wants the best for the club.
But the strain of running the club has always been apparent to me and I don’t think he is a natural like his dad. Peter was very able to soak the pressure up.
Being the chairman is a stressful role and if you aren’t right for it it can affect the whole set up. Maybe that is why managers struggle here. Perhaps there is another role for JC like a sleeping chief exec and a different person could be Chair. I don’t know. It’s complicated.

He kicks every ball , is the difference he is so engaged in a game he is literally playing it in his head where as Peter was far cooler whatever is said his commitment and passion and financial support is unequivocal , absolute , and incredible. Foibles and all he’s a brilliant owner for a club like ours .

I firmly believe the Coates family are the best possible owners for this club.
That’s not to say they haven’t got a lot of the on-pitch decisions wrong in recent years. But they also delivered a decade of mostly great times in the Prem. I’m sure they can deliver again. It may take some time though. I wouldn’t want anyone else running it.

Ipswich’s investment consortium have been there for two years. They’ve gone from league one to championship and could very possibly head to the PL this season. There are plenty of people who can own and operate a football club. There are also plenty, like JC, who have only overseen decline.

If he isnt well, more the reason to hand over to football people who know what they are doing. Then he can sit back & hopefully enjoy watching Stoke do well.

Some of the shit posted on here is appalling, he deserves far more respect than some posters show. Question some decisions, absolutely. But the personal abuse is bang out of order. If you wouldn't say it to somebody's face, don't post it on here.
