Assuming the fee isn't silly (hopefully less than a mill), we'll have made 30 bigger gambles than this since we came down. You can see he's got something. I'm viewing this as a calculated gamble, that we weren't planning on, to try and liven the forward line up for the next 6 months, with us still intending to go big there in the summer. Better we do this than let the season peter out and all momentum lost. / For me he's a 'better than nothing' signing who has the potential to be a gem if he can stay fit. If he flops or is always injured, he hasn't cost much and won't be contributing anything less than the wastes of space that we already have up front. And he seems to have the qualities that make him worth taking a punt on and could add some much needed pace going forward.

Can we at least give him a 95 min trial?

Probably blind faith talking here… but surely we’re due a striker to have the golden spell of their career with us.
For that reason alone I’m willing to give him a chance.

I'm on the Blackburn board, he's generally seen as unmotivated, overweight, cripplingly injury-prone, totally unsuited to a pressing game and with a terrible touch. An all-round disaster of a signing. There's a Plymouth fan on there who likes him though. So there's that Sounds like Tyrese?

Rightly or wrongly, the idea of Schumacher being a head coach focused on training the players above calling the shots on transfers seems to have been dropped pretty quickly.

Meh is an understatement, and I feel the same way about Cundle too. More managers mates, are they going to improve us, time will tell, I’m not writing either off, but I shan’t hold my breath either.

Rightly or wrongly, the idea of Schumacher being a head coach focused on training the players above calling the shots on transfers seems to have been dropped pretty quickly. It never was. They have always stated that the manager is involved, can suggest players and has the last say. Would you prefer the situation at Forest where allegedly a new player turned up to training who Steve Cooper knew nothing about and nobody had bothered to inform him they'd signed.

Big difference between sanctioning two young players at the start of their careers and letting a manager bring in someone like Daniel Johnson.

What are we thinking for the fee then?
Probably undisclosed - but maybe around £750k because they'll be keen to shift a player they aren't using?
