I think he's a decent point for little or no transfer fee. We need to manage his appearances, but so long as no one expects him to start every week he can be one of the squad 24/25 replacments for Wes, Gayle and Ty.

That Rovers YouTube video suggests that he was probably better than Hardie for Plymouth last season and Hardie has done pretty well in the Championship himself this season.
As FullerMagic has pointed out it just seems to be fitness that’s an issue.

I'm on the Blackburn board, he's generally seen as unmotivated, overweight, cripplingly injury-prone, totally unsuited to a pressing game and with a terrible touch. An all-round disaster of a signing. There's a Plymouth fan on there who likes him though. So there's that Maybe so but could you see a forward of that description excelling under Schumacher? For some especially strikers things just click at certain clubs and not others. I know ar. He's been totally knackered by injuries this season so we'll just have to see

At least we'll know all about his body and his history - we've even got their fitness bloke on board haven't we?
Fee will be key though.
If it's in the ballpark of £500k, can't see too many complaints as an opportunistic one we weren't planning on doing
If it starts climbing towards 7-figures, looksa gamble with his fitness issues

It's all a bit Nathan Jones for my liking but he was an arse and SS isn't so I just roll with it for the time being.

Wonder if he is “the” striker today? Or just another opportunistic one that came up?

It's a gamble, but we're not going to be blindsided by anything. There are loads of quotes from Schumacher calling him a great kid etc

My heart still sinks a bit when managers go in for old favourites from previous clubs though, just seems like small-time thinking nowadays. Anyway we'll see

www.rovers.co.uk/players/niallennis/Strength, speed and enthusiasm. Just can’t stay fit 😳 I would say though that the quality of our chances should improve if we bring in two players who are quick and strong runners. So many goals in this league are scored on the break. We have made a lot of chances recently but not one of them looked as gilt edged as any of those Sunderland breakaways. (Apart from the clearance off the line, which just happens let’s face it).

So Jared has been scouting the world for answers data driven and the outcome is two blokes who were at Plymouth i fancy january will mirror the summer in terms of impact namely achieving the seemingly impossible and making us even less effective

These (Cundle/Ennis) feel like Schumacher. A mistake we’re making again for sure, but unsure it can be pinned on him, more our “structure” or lack of.

You've written a coherent sentence (every now and then you let your pretence slip). 2. You're being ridiculously negative for a change 🙄

Watch the first 2 minutes of these Plymouth fans talking about him, and then say you're not prepared to give him a chance

I said previously id rather sign no one than let this lot have any other go at filling the squad with failures and right now I’ll stand by that , cundle is abject , Ennis injured all season why would he suddenly make an impact and million will need time to adapt and is a big fee at this level hopefully all make an impact but track record says it’s unlikely.

Started at Wolves I think maybe wants to be local again. Manager knows him youngish for a smallish fee.
Pace to burn as well

It isn't either or though: some signings will be from Jared whilst others will be from Schumacher. I imagine he is the final word. It seems to me like the winger is someone we have scouted whilst Ennis is an opportunity so we're leaning on Schumacher's knowledge. Seems like a balanced transfer policy to me, moving away from what we have used prior to last summer.

Yes but not at Stoke. The Blackburn fans were describing a player totally different to the Plymouth fans. My point was it’s not always the player it’s also how he fits the club.
