Million Manhoef has passed the inspection at Stoke City and has signed a contract for 3.5 years with an additional year of option. Championship has proven to be a great stepping stone for many Dutch talents in recent years and Manhoef hopes to follow a similar route. January 31 10:12 PM چ www.espn.nl/voetbal/artikel/_/id/13008999/transferupdates-stoke-city-wint-strijd-om-handtekening-manhoef-ajax-en-twente-in-gesprek-over-salah-eddine 'Stoke City wins battle for Manhoef' signatureMillion Manhoef will leave Vitesse for more than four million euros, sources tell ESPN . Manhoef is said to be transferring to Stoke City, the current number nineteen of the Championship. The financial need is high in Arnhem. To complete this football year, Vitesse needs at least 5 million euros. Earlier today it was announced that Manhoef was also in the picture at PSV, but the people of Eindhoven have already dropped out.

This is exactly why I never worry when things go quiet. Our transfers come out of absolutely nowhere the majority of the time and I absolutely love it 😂

Having lived in Palermo for 3 months last year...can say its an odd choice from Sicily to Stoke.
But he sounds like he has pace to burn and loves taking on a man

16 goals and 14 assists in 88 games for Vitesse. So slightly better than 1 in 3 G/A. He’s only turned 22 at the start of this month as well which makes it pretty darn impressive too.

This guy seems a reputable journalist
Vitesse is going to cash for Million Manhoef. The attacker will transfer to Stoke City in the Championship for 4 million euros once the last obstacles have been removed. Palermo was also in the race, but Manhoef opted to continue his career in England.

Intriguing... know nothing about him, looks like he's got some decent acceleration and pace, looks quite short but strangely also quite solid/stocky for someone with that speed (not quite in Shaqiri territory but...) hopeful that will stand him in good stead in this league where Vidigal has been muscled off the ball MMV looks like he might have a bit of muscle and upper body strength. Most importantly...looks to have an absolute wand of a left peg, in his shooting and crosses. Hope we can get this in the bag

I think that he is a converted defender as well (according to this: www.transfermarkt.us/million-manhoef/profil/spieler/564449). He looks quick and able to shrug off a challenge. That’s exactly what we are missing.

I want to be excited by this one. Another biggish move transfer fee wise for us, but looks like he could be a cut above what we have in attacking sense currently.

I know nothing about this player.
But 4 million euros seems steep.
His record doesn’t look the best. Albeit he is playing for a team rooted to the bottom of the Dutch league.
Hopefully he’s a Burger.

Manhoef is 179cm long and weighs 71kg. It is built quite slender with a strong upper body and broad shoulders. Due to its low center of gravity, it can rotate very easily and knows how to change direction quite easily at high speed. It has a decent speed in both the long and short distances and has a very high acceleration capacity. He also manages to maintain this tempo well at the ball and is also able to keep this up for a whole game. Manhoef is left-legged and uses his right leg relatively little. Player profile: tactical In recent seasons, Manhoef played in various positions in various formations. For example, in the past he played as a striker or left wingback in a 5–3–2 formation or left winger in a 4–2–3–1 formation. This season, he plays almost all of his games as right winger in a 4–2–3–1 formation. Although Manhoef is very flexible, I think it comes into its own in a 4–3–3 or 4–2–3–1 formation as left or right winger. Player profile: playing style Fast, agile player. Plays with confidence at a rapid pace. Likes to look up the 1v1. He often waits for the defensive action of the opponent to determine his passing moment. Almost always pulls towards his left leg and then chooses a shot, early cross or (stitch) pass. Loves to put a player in the 16. Loves attempts from a distance. Defensively active and also has the stamina to play for a high-pressure team. Uses strong upper body to remain in possession of the ball. Very one-legged which can make it predictable. However, his explosiveness makes it difficult to defend him. Good kick in left leg, can take care of game repairs. Player profile: data To get an idea of Manhoef's performance against other outdoor players and attacking midfielders in similar competitions, I added two radarcharts. This is because Vitesse's performance has deteriorated dramatically this season and this can affect Manhoef's way of playing and performance. The first radar chart is about the 22/23 season and the other about season 23/24. Let's zoom in on this a little further. First of all, the figures from his previous season. Manhoef scored very well on his goal-orientedness. As mentioned, he likes a shot towards goal and that is clearly visible in the graph. With 3.1 shots per 90 / minutes, he is one of the most trigger-happy players. However, his shots are of a fairly low quality (0.08 xG per shot). Manhoef likes to shoot from a distance and these attempts naturally have the lowest xG value. Still, he was at the top with 9 goals in the field of non-penalty goals. This is all clearly visible in the graphic below. 43 of the 97 shots came from outside the sixteen-meter area. From this, 37% ended up on the goal and none resulted in a goal. In creating opportunities for himself and others, he also scored well above average in that season. There is room for improvement in his pass accuracy and ball loss in general. With 13.1 ball loss per 90 minutes, Manhoef is among the worst performing players in this specific area. The same can be said about its pass accuracy of 66.8 percent. In addition, his defensive activity was low with only 1.4 interceptions / tackles per 90 minutes. If we now look at his radar chart of the current season, we see a number of differences and a number of similarities with the past season. For example, Manhoef is still a trigger-happy player with a very low xG per shot. However, he continues to score above average goals, although this is now a fraction lower than last season. His accuracy with the ball is also still low. Its high number of gymnasts per 90 minutes seems to be a problem. In addition, his pass accuracy has improved slightly but is still below average. This season, Manhoef has no assist to his name, despite creating 0.16 xA per 90 minutes. The biggest positive change lies in his even higher number of successful dribbles and the number of shots created for himself. Perhaps this has something to do with the lower quality of its fellow players and the fact that the team is more dependent on Manhoef's qualities. Greatest qualities Dribble Manhoef is able to engage multiple defenders with his technique and agility. He keeps the ball close to him and is able to pass defenders due to his explosiveness. With its speed and qualities 1v1, it is also a very dangerous player for the switch. Based on the number of dribbles per 90 minutes and the percentage of successful dribbles, he is one of the top in Europe this season. Not bad when you play for a relegation candidate, right? 2. Vision in final third Due to his good dribble, Manhoef often ends up around the enemy sixteen-meter area. An absolute quality of his is the fact that he manages to keep an excellent overview there. He sees movement of fellow players excellently, knows how to hide it with some regularity or to make room for the shot himself. Manhoef is therefore best to play together with a running, in-depth midfielder and / or cleverly running striker. An example: Improvement points 1. Weak leg As said before, Manhoef is quite one-legged. This makes it predictable in some cases. He often saves himself through his explosiveness, but at a higher level this will become more difficult. It is therefore important that he becomes less predictable. One of the ways to accomplish this is to develop the right leg and more often seek the action from the outside. Although it must be said that it makes sense to choose the way in as it is the fastest way to the goal. Variety will increase the quality of the cutting inwards! Wondering how often Manhoef dribbles towards his left leg? View the graphic below and focus on how often the black arrows point to the left. The same can be said about his diversity of shooting. Of course it makes sense that he shoots more with the left, but in this case it is quite out of balance. 2. Ball loss Manhoef belongs to the absolute top of the Eredivisie when it comes to losing the ball. Part of this can be explained by the fact that he dribbles so much. In general, many dribbles mean more ball loss. I do not think that this is the largest development point. This is mainly in his pass accuracy. Manhoef is often looking for the killer pass. Sometimes this succeeds and creates a scoring opportunity. But far too often this does not work and there was a simpler solution. Especially when he comes to play for a dominant team, a more conservative way of playing is important. Conclusion Million Manhoef is a promising winger. His 1 to 1 skill and speed gives his opponents a lot to think about and this can be decisive in different matches. However, there are still some points for improvement to take his game to the next level. Manhoef is very one-legged, making it a bit predictable in some cases, although his explosiveness compensates in many cases. However, this could become a problem at a higher level. In addition, his ball loss due to inaccurate passing is far too high at the moment. Certainly with dominant teams, he will have to play a bit more conservatively. I think Million Manhoef is a bargain for around 3 million euros. Although he may still be a bit raw now, he can definitely develop into a top-class winger for various teams in Europe.
