For all of us in the ground Berger looked onside, arched his run to stay on, had a look for a replay but can't see one. Gouranga.

Looked Level on the only replay I saw. But those at the game and in line would be better placed to comment. It was pure quality in any case

Watched it on telly… he was about a yard off and only because of how he was leaning. Pity.

I was in Boothen End, so not the best view of it really in terms of being able to look across the line. But it didn't look clearly offside to me.
One thing I will say is that lino put flag up straight away, so must have been pretty certain. You can't say fairer than that, really.
Officials get shitloads of abuse when they make odd or stupid decisions (including the red card today), so I think you have to back them on marginal calls. It's a hard job and I wouldn't want to do it, knowing every call I make could change the direction of a fixture.

Benefit of doubt always to attacking side lineman got it wrong

They're both in the same cut and level

You don’t have to be good to give that one in the second half when their player was at least two yards offside (not an exaggeration) they are heavily trained and get paid well enough to do their job properly and get pulled up when they do a shit job

He was obviously goal hanging to gain an unfair advantage.
The rules need changing. We have the technology.
Something as basic as the whole player needs to be offside for it to be counted rather than a wayward eyelash. Confirm with VAR.

Where’s VAR when you need it 😂😂 Oh wait we would probably still be waiting for the decision. I was in the Boothen End Thought he was on But it’s not the best place to tell from I did see vidigal in a head lock though so I would have to question the linesman’s eyesight 😂😂😂

Even in real time I thought it was tight, seeing the replay straight away confirmed just that, if level he should get the benefit. Liner must have been pretty certain in his head.

I see where you are coming from, but if they change the offside rule to the whole body needs to be offside, then we will have his back heel is 1cm onside. It will just reverse the situation to what we've got at the moment.

It will just reverse the situation to what we've got at the moment. Which isn’t a problem to me. The concept was there to stop people from simply standing in the box all game. If someone’s toe is still onside, then it’s close enough for me. The reverse of the rule would favor positive play, which should be how the rule book is set up anyways. For calls that are still up for debate, the rule should favor the attacking side as well.
