Went Britannia bank on Friday and over heard one of the girls behind the counter telling a Vale save and support account holder that if he took his bank book into the Vale club shop before next Friday they would give him a free copy of Football manager 2008 for the PC.
Anyone know if we are doing the same offer? the girl who served me didn't mention anything but thought I'd ask on here.

Read the notices its £700,000 plus this year.I dont know if anyone else has noticed that this sum has gone down over the years. But then of course it gave nearly £1 mill to the Academy when it was initiated,I wonder where it goes now?

It hasn't "gone down" over the years. The trend has been upwards, in GT's time it was around £500k per annum. There may be a dip this year although unlike Moorlander I have not yet seen the figures.

There you go Forskin.dont tell Porkies, the figure was certainly on a poster in John Smiths, who are you protecting "Were is the money going now"??????

Moorlander, I am not disputing that the figure may be lower this year. I just haven't seen the poster myself. The fact is that even if it is £700k this year that is well above the annual figure at the start of the account when it was closer to £500k. So to say that the figure has "gone down" over the years is misleading. It has tended to go up over the years although there is apparently (according to your poster) a dip this year. Even with the dip the figure this year will be comfortably higher than it was in the time GT was manager.

For a fact, it has gone up over the years.

The Icelanders though it would be nice to include it general income and not have it for the Academy, as was being advertised until earlier this year!. Hence lack of funds for its development until recent times. Big issue under Blake and Bennett stewardship though.

The money has never been "ring fenced" ... it goes to the same place as the FA Cup money and the pot-of-gold-money ... yep, that's right, into the Black-Hole.
06/07 it was around £800,000 (a bit more than that, if I remember right) ... Given some very wealthy individual must have a lot of wedge in one account or another (or Stokies are a damn sight richer than they let on!) then it's probably "the withdrawl of the war-chest" (Salif - That's one large salary!!) that has depleted this year's payment ...
;0)
