Nuno equals sell out crowds, excitement and revenue to avoid FFP.
Eustace equal boredom and mediocrity. Same old, same old.
Stoke sides back to the 50s, 60s and 70s were built on exciting attacking football. Now it’s like watching paint dry.

Or maybe NES hadn’t applied, doesn’t want the job, and was not the least bit interested. Because apart from this message board the idea of him coming here hasn’t been mentioned in anywhere Can’t blame JC for not appointing someone who didn’t want the job anyway it wasn’t just on here though , plenty of social media and news papers reported it That's not exactly any recommendation for accuracy, is it

If it is eustace or any of the other usual suspects then we will be in this same position in 12/18 months Eustace may be ok but his win rate was no better than neils, obviously a manager has to fit whether they are guardiola or pulis just don't think it would be good for us or the fanbase for more of the same i for 1 am sick of watching it. if it was Eustace he’d be here now

That’s like saying when Hughes got sacked, ‘if it was Lambert he’d be here now’. Eustace might be a 4th choice but we don’t know if the first 3 wants to come.

Because he progressed, chose the wrong job and instead of going back into a Palace/Everton/bornmouth type club which could easily go as wrong as it could right. He could join a club with frankly the lowest of low expectations at the minute and build us up to then try to move on again to a top team in one of the top 5 leagues (not necessarily the prem again). Sometimes you do have to take 1 step back to take 2 forward. But he doesn’t have to. He’d quite likely still get a job at a Premier League team (or a team in any of the top divisions). Would any of those be a project and the chance to build something backed by some of the richest owners in the country? With basically unlimited funds if we get back into the prem?

Similar to Pulis in 2002

We didn’t have unlimited funds when we went into the Premier League. It’s hardly like we did what Newcastle, Man City and Chelsea did. Nor did we ever look like we were about to spend that kind of cash. Why would he want a project? Has he come out and said so? He’s been there, done that. Now, he’s well-known and can highlight his successes on his resume. All the failures of managers are happily ignored if they’ve once done something well. It’s why people like Warnock et al keep getting jobs.

It would certainly add a few thousand onto the current gates but I doubt it would be sell outs and it certainly wouldn’t make much difference to FFP.

Nuno equals sell out crowds, excitement and revenue to avoid FFP. Eustace equal boredom and mediocrity. Same old, same old. Is this some kind of wind-up? It will take a lot more than NES before we ever have sell out crowds again. All it needs is a few wins and some signs of good football and the optimism will come flooding back in no time. And that can happen under any manager.

Looking like a proper professional football club recruitment process. Then appoint John Eustace. Good luck John.

Not sure nuno plays the free flowing football people think. Yes he had good players at the start of his wolves journey bought in by mendes from Portugal mainly but in the prem they played 5 at the back and soaked up the pressure and used traore's pace to quickly break and get back up the field.

I said the same myself to a workmate on Thursday.i could just imagine the lift and buzz around the ground.i could see a close to capacity crowd for the first game, aswell as a massive media presence. It would lift the club immediately.

Even if we filled the ground and everyone was paying £30 the club would only bring in £900000 per match.or a capacity crowd would only bring in an extra £300000 per match which would not cover NES's and his coaches' salary. If you look at the number of concessions (children and over 65's) in the ground and the fact that we wouldn't sell out every week we would be making a bigger loss than we are currently on match days I suspect.

What about all the good coaching credentials he got prior to Brum? Very highly regarded by all accounts I get hes not everyones first choice but I honestly dont think hes as bad as some are making out He maybe a half decent coach and may have done ok with Kidderminster and 2 months at brum. With our club in the state it’s in now in my opinion eustace appointment would seal relegation and if I’m honest I cant believe he is up there in the betting. Out of all the names out there we would be scraping the barrel again You keep saying 2 months at Brum but he was there for longer than that no?

"Revenue to avoid FFP" no it wouldn't, given the money he'd want it would take a lot more than a few more tickets sold to cover it, add to that a massive sell off if he doesn't do that well I can fully understand why we'd steer well clear. How is Eustace same old same old, he's an up and coming manager that's got a decent record so far, he's not one of the old faces that have failed over and over and keep getting jobs. Eustace is more in the mould of what Potter was before he went Swansea but with less experience etc (I'm not comparing them out right before you start). We're also a bottom half Champ team without big money to spend, we aren't the draw people seem to think we are.

I cannot see why he would come to a bottom-end Championship club - he certainly does not need the money and there will be much higher profile clubs in Europe that will be looking for managers after Christmas. Apart from a handful of social media rumours (not exactly trustworthy sources) there has been absolutely no indication that he is or ever was interested in the Stoke job. This thread was built entirely on some very optimistic thinking on our part as supporters. 😅😂

With only two points for a win, a team could have a mid-table position by grinding out loads of low scoring draws.

I Just hope they’ve done everything they can to bring him to the club, if they have and he just doesn’t fancy the job then that’s fair enough, but I hope we’re not just playing out time before inevitably announcing Eustace! absolutely nothing against Eustace, but at present he’s not a name that will get the fans enthused and we badly need a manager who will spark the imagination, we’ve had too many middle of the road managers, another one would kill us off and won’t be long till we see 13-14k crowds again.
