www.bbc.co.uk/sport/articles/cn4l3497vldoSimon King seems to put a figure of about £12m on this. It'll be interesting to see what the new building is mooted to look like, but haven't seen the plans anywhere.

Main thing for me about CW is that it's quite small. Compared to most, we don't have many pitches, although what we do have are very good. Surely any building work will be on existing pitches as I've not heard there's much land available.
My lad is sown there all day on day release, and it gets absolutely packed if the first team and any other teams are in. The parents room hardly gets used and has 1 male and 1 female toilet, and whilst it's lovely looking building - it's very small.

Cheers for that - I know where you mean. The one thing we are desperate for is a proper indoor dome down at CW. The one by the ground is awful, and it's often warmer to stand outside - indeed, the viewing area is really poor.

Younger age academy teams. Hardly ever been a game in there as it's too small. Sometimes my lad trains in there on Thursdays if the astro is frozen or being used by the U18s

Will the Michelin Athletic Club remain as part of the new plans? I'm assuming so, the people I still know who work for Michelin tell me it's chronically underused these days compared to even 15/20 years ago when I worked there........

Obviously I've got my finger on the pulse Simon king is the coo chief operations officer who looks after everything from fans matchday experience to building works etc think he works with Denise's husband Richard smith? That's why we have/having all the improvements to the ground fanzone safe standing even the new fence that's gone up on the heron cross path, doing a cracking job.

Great opportunity for a couple on here to dust of their moaning mittens fresh from the ground inprovments and find something wrong with this.
As always, I look forward to the day the team on the pitch matches the recent endeavours off it.
Another good improvement to the infrastructure of the club.

It's exactly what is needed. My only question is on space, as CW doesn't have too much. My point re a dome is a valid one, as ask any parent who goes there - it's dreadful.

An indoor dome was proposed on the South field pitches, never came to fruition for some reason. Given the plot of land on the current dome site a larger facility there would be possible surely.

Attachment DeletedDo they use the two Orange areas for Clayton Wood nowadays? I've played adult football where the bigger box is, and mini soccer in LadsanDads on the smaller one (noted as Trent Valley Archers, but I can see a full size pitch on Google Maps on it) - surprised if they hadnt purchased and developed that, its easily fenced / walled off and accessible from Rosetree Ave Am also surprised that they havent bought/gained control of St Joes playing fields, would seem prime land for pitches, Academy/Womens team etc as a setup (guessing thats frought with legalities and whether St Joes want to sell!) Is the yellow circle part of it? Not noticed that before. Look good pitches on there. Its an amazing transformation really, I played cricket at the Mich a number of times back in the 90s, and football there many times - I scored 4 in one game once on the pitch thats not the astro looking at it, and a cup final goal on the main pitch in front of the Mich Sports Club - it was always a decent facility (if a bit boggy the further left you went!) We played on there for the Oatcake once against a few teams inc Stoke legends probs early/mid 2000s as a tournament (led by Merk (MCF74) from memory) Its a million miles away from the old portacabin and basic fields, and if you think back to the Vic that shitty training pitch by the A500! I guess there is limited space in the city unless you piss a load of kids teams off and take over a bigger venue (ie Roe Lane in Newcastle, The Croft at Penkhull etc) - they probably missed the boat (ie poor planning by the previous setups) when we moved ground to build something purpose built where Longton Rugby is now backing onto Blurton Meadows used by LadsadDads.

Yellow circle are 'south field' pitches used by the academy teams, where the indoor dome was originally proposed in 2012. The left orange area is used for by Sunday league games and an archery club. Not sure on the right area.

Room F-20 looks a bit ominous - the boardroom/Snr management conference room. I'm led to believe this has been designed by Lord Dennis with Maximum Mamba room factored into the equation (22.3m squared) for those nights where the deed has to be done...

I'll have a go: You can invest all you want in infrastructure, but if you don't have a left-back at the club and the chairman is xenophobic and can only choose a manager from the tiny piss-pot pool of managers from the British Isles and categorically refuses to look elsewhere - then what is the fecking point. The club will not move forward while they are here.
