Just be aware…. Last Saturday (for a friendly) There was a shit load of extra security to get through before reaching the turnstiles … don’t know if this was just for the new area though !!! If the heavy hand stewards are up to their old tricks again tomorrow, I’ll be one of the first to be expressing my concerns. Last season they were checking cards outside last season, which isn’t their role and anything out of hand, report it to the head steward inside. This high vigilance doesn’t happened in another of the stands outside of the ground.. so targeting the south stand is unfair. There is more way more trouble there than any other part of the ground, why is it unfair? Seems sensible to me. You target the people that you think will cause trouble. Where would I expect home fans to have a flare - the south stand Where would I expect home fans to have a go at getting at away fans - south stand Where would I expect a fight to break out more than anywhere else in the ground - south stand

I disagree. I saw a couple of skirmishes in the Boothen corner (block 25) last season.

That crossed my mind too. Metal detectors, emptying of pockets - like flying somewhere. Multiply that times the number of people turning up for the first game of the season, across each turnstile and it will lead to some big queues. I noticed a couple of "suits" from the club were monitoring how things were going last Saturday and when they noticed a queue building, gave the go ahead for people to go in through whatever turnstile was free, instead of via the one on their ticket.

Pleased that there appears to be a gluten free food stand. I’ll give it a go tomorrow, as there’s nothing in the ground that currently caters for me.

Genuine question, The gluten thing seems to have appeared in the last decade or so re food warnings or maybe I didn't spot it. Was it always an issue for a large amount of people and something that manufacturers just never catered for?

It’s something that’s always been there but a lack of diagnosis or awareness meant that people were suffering without knowing what the cause was. Also, changes in food preservatives and a gradual change in human immune systems over time have lead to more and more people being diagnosed.

A bit like blokes with long beards and women with butterfly tattoos, suddenly was loads of them.

Although it’s a bit more expensive to buy at the moment, I think all eateries will become fully GF soon.
