I wonder what it would take to get rid of him? He won't be tied to us like a player in terms of a contract. Surely we could fire him overnight due to the cluster fuck he has created. The club will run, life will go on. I'm not convinced club of our size needs a DOF, its certainly not proving to be successful. Are there FFP concerns around giving him the boot? Given the utter disaster he has overseen, not to mention the lurid stories of his boorish, dictatorship influence over Schuey and the squad this past week or so, why hasn't JC given him his marching orders yet?

Nice to see Tricky's dirty linen being aired in public www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stoke-city-transfer-martin-dublin-9116600To sign 24 players and to see 19 of them fail to start last weekend, speaks volumes. This has been a collective failure from all involved. Whether they’ve been manager picks or Jared Dublin recommendations; they’ve all supposedly passed the now infamous Ricky Martin’s five pillars test. To say this is fundamentally flawed would be a huge understatement. Up to now if we are being brutally honest, we have Wouter Burger, some lovely flashes of skill from Bae Junho (but very little end product) and some energy and enthusiasm from Junior Tchamadeu. In summary we had a blank canvas signed 20+ players and ended up an unbalanced mess - a mess that I’m not sure Ricky Martin will survive. you would like to think the writing will be on the wall following that article, surely Ricky can't survive that

Something has absolutely gone on for him to be sacked before the end of the season as a change now won’t have much impact.

I have no idea if he was anywhere near as much of a bulb as what has been made out, but if the murmurings were even half true, he had to go.
If he's not that bad and it's as a result of the abuse he's been getting then that's not great, but guess you could say the appointment hasn't worked at all, whatever has actually happened.

Wow. This is really encouraging! Thought the same when I saw the Percy tweet. Good on John for acting as well. The bloke gets (rightly) a lot of criticism for our current predicament so it's only fair to praise him when he gets something right like this. Be interesting to see if Dublin survives but feels like a big vote of confidence for Schumacher from John.

This is the first bit of good Stoke-related news for...I....can't remember.... It's fantastic news, but christ on a bike what a mess...and wonder how much damage Ricky has caused the club behind the scenes, what it'll take to fix, whether he'll be replaced like for like or will they'll slightly pivot from Technical Director to Director of Football (hopefully)

For this position we need someone with care for the club. Intelligence and experience in the type of squad mix that makes for a successful stoke city.
Hopefully we consider appointing someone with close connections with the club, playing experience, and a plain speaker who does not go on about pillars of success etc. Someone the manager can work with, who conducts themselves properly.

Great news.
Take your wanky middle managment jargon and fuck off.
Make Schumacher *MANAGER*
Put the bomb squad on top of a bonfire survive this year and etc him build his team next year.

I really worry that we will get 'duped' again by another 'marketing KPI guy'. I have no idea who is the next big thing in terms of DoF within Div 1/2 or abroad? I'd go shit or bust for Roy Hodgson overseeing it if we could get him. Only as I know he started in such roles in Sweden/Switzerland - I am sure there must be numerous DoF out there who could work with JC and SS...............I unfortunately have no faith in JC getting this call right

MON should never have left and should have moved up stairs to DOF. seems made for that role Can I ask, what makes you think that? Going off purely his football management side he'd be awful, he had a set way of playing and didn't sign the right type of players for it (putting aside their ability), that doesn't scream out that he'd be capable of coming up with a long term strategy and implementing it properly.

Ok for now - but it’s not gonna have any impact on the team fighting relegation.
Will we be looking for a TD/FD for league one or championship ?
