Very easy to work out……Perhaps those in charge of 7 years of utter shite? Unless 18th is to be accepted and celebrated?

Just out of interest why are you so abusive to a former successful manager of the Club who delivered safety from relegation, promotion, an FA Cup Final and European football in during his tenure? As he ever poured scorn on the club, its supporters or the City? Just interested I didn't realise I was? In his own words he's retired, so walk away and leave the game behind. Let the people in the job find their own way. It's quite simple. A lot of successful people have at least one mentor and I imagine Pulis is a very good one.

'those in charge' Have changed multiple times since relegation if you mean the club as opposed to the managers we'll Scholes left and the dreadful Martin has been replaced If you simply mean JC it's as daft an argument as saying PC could never get Stoke promoted when he came back in 2006 (I should know as I was adamant he couldn't) Benji argues that we know have decent people in the right posts, King, Walters, Schumacher, Richard Smith That looks like a much stronger argument than yours

I have more faith in the current regime than any since JC imposed Cartwright upon us.
I think JC has realised that his fantasy football dream was just that .
Time for the SOP (Sons of Pulis) to rise up again!!

A fab zone won't get us top six He got 100 + points with Plymouth, something no Stoke manager has ever done already he's got Stoke making loads more chances and having loads more attempts at goal than before last week was a good example 1 scored but should have been at least 3 Very clear where we need to improve if we improve our finishing from dreadful to average we will be miles better off it's staring everyone in the face that things have changed

Yes, the only thing missing is a chorus of green sleeves. People derided Ricky Martin for corporate speak and rightly so. I like SJW but he’s said fuck all really other than waffle platitudes for 4 minutes. Hopefully it’s just a media front and what he’s actually doing behind the scenes is effective. Yeah, just a load of hot air and repeating the same thing over and over again, no substance to it whatsoever and waffling about cleaning ladies and chefs. I really hope he knows what he's doing or it'll be a disastrous appointment.

Time for the SOP (Sons of Pulis) to rise up again!! Sounds like a horror film. That’s precisely my concern about Walters, football philosophy by association which I accept could be completely wide of the mark. I think that shows what little influence he’s had so far. He’s a completely unknown quantity but I don’t see how having a SD and a head coach with completely opposite views of the game can be successful.

My only question about that was did he decide or was he told and then went back to a style you’d associate with him for the Plymouth game. If he was told to play the ugly shit who told him he could revert for our biggest game in years. The dynamics of our management set up are a real head scratcher.

Yeah, just a load of hot air and repeating the same thing over and over again, no substance to it whatsoever and waffling about cleaning ladies and chefs. I really hope he knows what he's doing or it'll be a disastrous appointment. Totally disagree. Communication has been missing from this club. Communication of what standards are expected, from ALL staff. The athletic article was very damaging and made this point. Without clear communication people get a negative attitude, don't work too standards, that's what seems to have been happening with players here in particular. If you join a club like Celtic or rangers, that's what it communicated, you are expected to rise to a new level, up your game. That's what we want at stoke, and it needs constant communication and joined up thinking and that's what Walters is there to do. I'm glad to hear this sort of talk from him. It sounds like he is accessible to everyone in the club, and not hiding himself in an ivory tower then coming out with the odd clever quote or slide show presentation. Of course, squad planning will be another big project he'll have been involved in and we're about to see the result of this planning in the summer. We desperately need to see progress this time

Manager changes tactics to suit the formation and opposition shocker ….its now called shitting themselves apparently
Fuck me some of those on here have backed themselves into such a corner they are clinging on to anything to justify the shite they’ve posted about him relegating us since he signed
He didn’t and he’s done the job he set it out to do and it’s got them scurrying around for anything to cling on to

There was clearly a period where he tried to implement his own philosophies which after a meh start went into freefall. That was followed by a period where we clearly played a more attritional ugly percentage brand of football to grind out the points to create a chink of light between us and the bottom 3. Followed by the surprise reversion to Schuball for the Plymouth game. I’m certainly not seeing that to slight our head coach in any way whatsoever. What came in between concerned me more than anything. Plymouth gave me hope that we still might actually try to play some decent football moving forward. As I’ve said above there is far more still unknown than known about the dynamics of our management set up and that’s mainly because Walters footballing beliefs are completely unknown barring an association which could be completely wide of the mark. I’m interested to see how it pans out.

John Coates relies on overspending to make up for his failures as a chairman, so instead of being relegated we escape it with a game to spare. Wonderful leadership.

You'd hear things like "no course and distance" and "has never run a proper summer transfer window" and "huge risk" and of course the old faithful "gravity crocodile". I'm loving the positivity but i'm not yet seeing the basis for it that most people are?

It's not rubbish Certain posters have decided very early that he's no good, that we will go down and are now stating the modest but clear changes in the right direction are nothing to do with the manager or in Bayerns case down to luck Now we are seeing more than poster hint and nudge that the relationship between manager and SJW is not right, that there is some mysterious disconnect between them.

A culture of celebrating escaping relegation ends one way. We started losing games, maybe the manager thought the team was becoming fatigued because they hadn't fully adapted to his style of play and the mistakes we were making were because of that. He reigned it in, spent a few more weeks building their fitness levels up more and then we went again and finished the season a lot stronger with a few clean sheets in there to boot playing the style of football he wants us to play. This is how it looks to me, I wouldn't call it shitting the bed. He's proved he can adapt and play different styles of football and still get results, I'm quite impressed by him to be fair. It feels like we actually have a proper coach who will take us forward now.
