I am now certain that the whole shambolic relaunch was intentional so Sky could run Rivals down and drive everyone to SkySports.com. They've been building the message boards on there over the last few months and the Sky boards are where they want the traffic. Sky's typical operating procedure is buy a company, fuck it up and move the user base to their main core business. Mark my words - publishers will be getting finished soon, in large numbers as well. The publishing on Rivals will be done by people in the Sky offices. I have made a decision to start a new network, based around the success with the duplicate Retro Rivals site I built for Middlesbrough. fmttm.comeonboro.com/I am setting up a network that will run exactly the way Rivals did. It will be ready for Monday morning. It will be called fansonline.net. There will be no outlay for you at all if you wish to join. I will pay you the same way Rivals did and I will be able to confirm the rates later this morning. Your communities are splintering and this is your big chance to keep them together. I'm here all day on this email address and you can call me on 01642 223229 as well. I can have your site ready for Monday morning. Please let me know if you are in or not. Together, we can take on Sky and win. By the way, Scunthorpe have not received any of the mesages as the email address was coming out as sthingyhorpe. Bristol Rovers came out as bistolrovers and there were other errors in there as well. Steve Goldby Middlesbrough

Good effort mate
I have been campaigning for us not to join Sky mainly because Sky (and Murdoch) are taking over everything. Only this week they bought the biggest religious site in the world
Apart from that their site is absolute garbage - suprising they've managed to squeeze in a board between their Sky dominated adverts
Good luck

The messageboard could do with a few more adverts! lol
Having used the facilities of this board there are one or two additions to the moggy board which would be welcome
Not bothered about avatars - they take up too much space but it is good to see a list of who is online and I guess that wouldn't be too difficult to add?

Steve, I like it. Good luck fella. I reckon Rivals has shot it's bolt. I can't see them doing anything with the site they have now to make it user friendly, which is the main thing. If Smudge decides to go with you, I reckon a lot of posters would be more than happy cus this board is a temporary one just in case we forget. Having said that, I'm sure there's more to running a board than what I know and Smudge has been doing it long enough to know just what is right and what isn't. I hope he takes up your offer because he's the main man around here. BTW, beware of others muscling in. Smudge is your man. Stick with him even if it means waiting a few days longer.
OS.

Interesting situation brewing, Rivals harks back to mistakes Netscape made to release a new browser. Took far too long to issue one and then when they did it was a pile of steaming do-do. As we all know Netscape is just a name nowadays and nobody uses it.

MMM the Sky message board is toss but I think going back to an old Rivals site is going to be a backward step aswell, it would be a good time to move to a web 2.0 set up.

The old rivals, was simple and easy to use and I was used to it. This message board is arguably better, but I still feel homesick!!
The link to the message board, would suit me down to the ground.

I much prefer this site, and really think we shoudl stay here tbh. I'm sure Smudge can upgrade this (this only set up as a temp site) and advertising would bring in the money ;D

Just a quick gripe to spiderpus, Netscape took too long in updating their browser simply because IE had the resources to put out and then fix, Netscape wouldn't sell out to shoddy programming and subsequently lost out. However I beleive Mozilla now have the Netscape mantle an I know who I would prefer of the 2 browsers.
