AN can't wait to pick up his big fat pay off and walk away from the big fat stinking mess that is his own doing.
He is laughing all the way to the bank of Dubai.
Should be on the beach and topping up his tan by Christmas .
Nice , life doesn't get much better than this for the Neil family.
But what a massive stinking mess he leaves behind at the bet365 .
We will never who turned down the stoke job but we do know plenty will be letting the club know that they don't want to be considered now.
I guess that will be AN's legacy , he turned stoke into a club players don't want to play for and coaches don't want to manage.
We need an inspirational appointment now , to turn our club around.

Makes no difference don’t give them a deal any longer than 2 years max. Getting rid of them is probably cheaper than changing one player never mind half a squad. Yeah I guess, who is your preferred choice? I don’t have one. I set a criteria and came up with 5 names to explore further the other day. I’ve no idea how realistically attainable they are but obviously tried to avoid suggesting managers/head coaches of big teams and concentrated on less fashionable teams who were scoring an above average number of goals in their league. TBH I don’t think it’s something the owners give any consideration to when choosing their managers. Maybe even the opposite. I mean they employed Lambert and look at how he set about solving our problems. I’ll settle for a manager who expects to concede and plans accordingly.

No it isn’t. You have to show any prospective managers that you are a decent employer who makes decisions with care and consideration. Not that you make knee jerk reactions. Did they not sack Dean Holden pitch side after inviting Alex Neil, while still employed by Sunderland and when they had a home game, to watch from the stands? Yes, it was awful. And rightly attracted tremendous condemnation from respected journalists. It looks like a lesson has been learned.

Where is Chris Kamara on that list? he was utterly bad, did he fair better than baldie? I have no idea why Alex Neil is still in a job tonight. He has to go and very very quickly. for sure, its done as far as I am concerned. I just remember watching Stoke through Kamaras reign and remembering it being utterly depressing. I have the same feelings now and just wanted to know who was worse PPG.

How does this work going forward: Can he turn it around? Will he just “ go for it” ? How can he he get the fans back on side? How can he get the players back on side? How much do you let him spend in Jan? Do the board double down and back him to the hilt? How toxic will it need to get before they finally act? He’s surely gone, mate.

He’s not staying as I keep saying results decide managers leaving owners and directors just the timing gravity rules supreme Benji has spoken. The crocodile has been released from its pen Indeed he’s feasting as we speak sadly the abjectly incompetent delusional Martin and his acolyte Jared aren’t in the menu .

I have no idea why Alex Neil is still in a job tonight. He has to go and very very quickly. Because decent people act in a respectful manner so that it helps to attract a decent replacement. Terminating him after such a protracted period of underperformance (borderline incompetence) with a massive compensation package is not disrespectful in any shape or form……

I hope it has already been done and we are on the process of contacting the candidates for the job now.
Giving time for Neil to organise himself and say his own goodbyes before we announce it ourselves is fine by me.
Giving him another game and this continuing is not fine, it's damaging and delaying the inevitable.

We have surely learned from the Holden embarrassment.

I think we are in big, big trouble. When we appointed Alex Neil I wasn’t particularly impressed, but I thought we would at least get a team that was hard to beat & horrible to play against. At no time have we ever got close to being anything like that. Whatever we think of him, this is the guy who took the ultimate in basket case clubs & turned them around. The fact that he has failed so miserably here says more about the toxic circus we have become since relegation than anything else. The job has been too big for him & several other managers with decent records at this level. It feels like things will probably get a lot worse before they get better. Rock bottom could be some way away yet.☹️

Let’s face it, the only constant factor in our 7 year demise is the owners. Time to sell to someone that knows how to run a business. They don’t need to sell. They just need to appoint the right people to run the football side of things. We’ll never get better or wealthier owners. They just need to realise there limitations and let the right people do the right jobs.

He would then resign. Didn’t he say on Thursday he would rather die, or words to that effect. Looking back it sounds like he was telling the owners they would have to sack him.

He would then resign. Managers very rarely resign nowadays given how much compensation they’re due when they’re sacked. It’s multi millions so anyone would tough it out until the owner eventually pulls the trigger.

Agreed. He isn’t going anywhere at the moment. Until we lose to Swansea at least Fukin ell I have always cut Neil a bit of slack, but he is totally deluded. That was one of the worst Stoke performances I have seen for years. He knows it as well, he looks like a bloke who has lost his way. Off we go again another manager and another clear out. To John Coates Few question your desire for the success of the club, but it is time to get someone in who fully understands what it takes to run a football club from top to bottom. Sort grafters from the bullshitters, don’t throw the towel in John, just let someone who knows football to take the lead.

Absolutely I've always hated a bloke being shit at his job and walking away with wedges of cash if you get sacked you should get fuck all because you're shit at the job like most ordinary folk.

Since he came in we haven't improved at all! I wanted O'Neill to go, but right now I'd certainly have him instead of Neil. At least O'Neill had some carisma, the one we have now hasn't got anything at all!
