This looks like the point of no return, walks like the point of no return - and quacks like the point of no return. So it probably is the point of no return. Realistically, there's just no coming back from this, and any attempt to do so is doomed to fail. It's just a question of time now, so they may as well make it swift Interested in why you say that. Plenty of managers have come back from worse and done well. I'm not taking sides as such just wondering what your evidence is to say that.

You simply cannot lose those three games. Even if you don’t win one, you don’t fucking lose all three. He must be teetering now, and I think he probably needs to go now. Not good enough.

If JC has one iota of footballing knowledge then that second half alone should see him swing the axe, especially after the horrendous run and stats of the past 15 months. He just has not worked at all, in any aspect. To go out second half and be instructed to play how we did, against a relegation favourite in PAFC, it’s nothing short of disgusting. Almost every pass from midfield went back to our defence or keeper, we even turned to volleying it from centre back to their centre back or keeper late on. I’m still absolutely fuming at what I witnessed for that second 52 minutes. A pub team manager with a paper bag on his head could have played that half better than the absolute fraud of Airdrie. For the sake of the club get rid of this clown right now, no one deserves this shit every week.

I’m certainly not seeing the high energy pressing game he promised. Said it the other day, he's turned us into Preston, a team just making up the numbers. After today, he's turning us into a relegation threatened side again.

So does Sheff Wed become a “must win” game then? I still see there’s a few on here prepared to give him more time.. but surely if we don’t win that game that’s got to be it

Plenty of managers have come back from worse and done well. I'm not taking sides as such just wondering what your evidence is to say that. I'd be surprised if anyone has turned it around after a first 59 games at a club like this, especially with no real sign that he's developing any kind of identity or knows how he wants us to play. Once you lose the fans, you're toast. And he's a very long way down that road. Managers don't normally last this long with a record like that unless there's an additional factor in the background - in this case it's the fact Coates has been after him for years, paid £1m+ in compensation and seemed to view him as some sort of guaranteed solid operator or modern-day Macari. But this team is showing absolutely none of the qualities that we were told were in Alex Neil teams. Once you get this far into a managerial spell with this record, the apathy is almost tangible. What has he done to give anyone the idea that he can turn the ship around? He can't dine out on that run of 5 games in March, and those 3 games at the end of October for much longer surely? Apart from a couple of other away games when he first came in (Preston and Hull spring to mind), we've been largely abject in his 16 months at the helm, and have lost 15 of our last 26 league games. He's the 6th longest-serving manager in the division, and must be in the top few in terms of games managed. He's not some young kid. He's an experienced operator who is failing badly. It's normally the sack for that kind of record at any level.

Interesting quote from this sentinel piece: www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stoke-city-plymouth-alex-neil-8949597“They have all had a pop at each other in the changing room, we should clear the ball, we should do this, we should do that. They know what to do, they've been doing it for the whole game, but in those dying embers of the game, it's making sure you make clean contact, it's making sure you make them have to work extremely hard to get the next goal. You get inside your man, you make yourself be hard to beat..." Winners don't talk about being hard to beat, winners talk about being frustrated they haven't won the game, talk about being frustrated at messing up the final ball into the box, a missed chance, a good save from their goalkeeper. No, our 'manager' talks about clearing balls and being hard to beat. He just doesn't have the right mentality to get us to where we want to be.

Think he is alienating the fan base. Says the same thing every week. I find most interviews with managers inane and uninspiring, but AN seems to take it to another level. You could literally do a bingo card on what he is going to say in a post-match interview: "We didn't deserve to lose ..." "We need to be braver on the ball ..." "We need to move the ball faster ..." "This is a new group of players ..."

PC you didn’t deserve that Yorkshire pudding John….Denise he needs to have better dinner management 😃. I can imagine the scene in Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatters tea party where dopy dormouse (JC) gets out of the teapot, rubs his eyes and scratches his head, and says "where are we in league, can I have a cup of something that will bring me round"
